found this beaut of a proposal on another site yesterday... dont know if you caught it:
browsing around and i just stumbled across this on some blog
Frankie Corrado
Byron Froese
Matt Hunwick
Two second-round picks (2017)
One first-round pick (2018)
for:
Jacob Trouba
I am not.
(frank)ing.
kidding. - Dozzer
This proposal comes from the Travis Yost school of thought I'm sure. If you add up the points that Corrado, Froese, and Hunwick got last season, and then the projected number of games that the future draft picks will play... carry the one... makes sense! Win for Winnipeg. |

So you'd trade our first or Nylander for Trouba?
Enjoy your ban! |

But in all seriousness, this is getting out of control so I'll join the fun.
To WNP: Torey Krug and a 1st
to BOS: Trouba

That's not the issue or the topic.

nylander for trouba is not unreasonable... plain and simple
the first? meh.. top 5 protected then sure.
trouba is a former tp 10 pick who in babcock's forward push sytem would break 30 and close in on 40P pretty easily.... i dont like what his rumoured contract demands are though... the contract they gave rielly sets the cap for young ufa d men in toronto. |

No.
I was merely pointing out that cox saying the leafs dont have a right handed dman capable of playing top 4 minutes isnt entirely inaccurate.
We dont know what we have in Zaitsev over 82 nhl games yet.
We're hoping he fits the bill, and he looks decent for sure. |

personally i think its too early to start making big moves for the leafs
keep to the plan... play the vets in roles where they can shine... sell them off over the course of the year... bring up more of the kids and see what they have.
get through the expansion draft and then start bringing in the bodies they need to augment the roster |

I'd be down with Trouba in T.O. from a player making the team better standpoint. The proposals/price seem out to lunch though. Not sure how it would go down but if it doesn't include #51 at least then the first rounder will have to be included. Not sure that's (the pick) what Chevy would be looking for as it's reported that he's looking for equal player going back and I'm sure that another GM would be willing to give more than the Leafs are prepared to surrender. I really see Boston making a good pitch to Chevy for Trouba

Exactly!
I dont want to move a move 1st for Trouba at all. As it will most likely be a top 10 pick.
But saying Nylander for Trouba or a 1st for Trouba is an overpayment or that you could get more...is simply foolish.
Trouba got 29 pts in his first season and has average 21-22pts every season after that.
He could easily break 30 with the right ice time.
His rumoured contract demands were probably to help make up the jets minds to trade him. |

i am not entirely sure... can a team request a meeting with the player and agent about a contract before making a deal for said player? |

ahhh ok... well if LouLams can threaten trouba's agent with concrete shoes and get him to agree to 5 per for 6 then okay...
seriously tho... i think if trouba wants more than rielly the leafs pass. |
