See everyone's gone all (frank)tard on Trouba's value.
Leafs should trade Matthews, Marner, Nylander and Rielly for an absolute poop load and that will speed the rebuild up. Trading for "potential" seems to add a ton to one's value. |

Even I wouldn't trade Nylander in a deal for him. That's going backwards. The only reason I want him is our forward depth is looking great, and I want to make our d just as strong. Take Nylander out, and that lowers us a few rungs. |

Even I wouldn't trade Nylander in a deal for him. That's going backwards. The only reason I want him is our forward depth is looking great, and I want to make our d just as strong. Take Nylander out, and that lowers us a few rungs.

Or without losing Nylander Marner or Brown i'm all for it.
It's not gonna happen without at least one of the ones I mentioned.

My point was more that maybe, giving up a 1st isn't such a bad idea given that it's a relatively weak draft class. But then there's the issue with Trouba and his contract demands. |

Here's something people need to think about when the pro-Trouba Leaf fans chime in. As of right now, and probably for the rest of their careers, Morgan Rielly looks like the better player. Captain Morgan makes 5 mil a year. The Leafs probably won't offer Trouba much more than that, which means he probably won't agree to sign with this team. |

Captain Morgan makes 5 mil a year. The Leafs probably won't offer Trouba much more than that, which means he probably won't agree to sign with this team.
