He seems to be behind Myers too...is Myers better than him? ( I havent watched very much of Trouba and only a little of Myers. ) I could look up their Corsi if I thought it meant anything. - Garnie

No, Myers is a tire-fire. I honestly don't know what Maurice is thinking... |

Trouba was second on the team in 5 on 5 situations, and led them shorthanded. The problem he has is he's getting no pp time, and he's not being given the opportunity to succeed offensively. He's a solid d-man, and I think could very well be a meaner John Carlson. |

Myers missed 8 games...so I'd think the icetime would have been close for them two. |

I think Myers faced a little stiffer comp too. Not sure Trouba should automatically get Myers spot IMO...just from the quick look at #'s. |

The adage that hockey "is a business" gets tossed around a lot and this is a case where that can ring true. If he feels he is not being given a fair shake and doesn't see an opportunity in the near future, you can't really blame him. He want's to be able to put his best foot forward to get paid and he appears to be getting stifled. It doesn't seem to be a situation like a bad attitude rookie hold-out but who knows. |

huh? I'm not talking ATOI, Trouba was used as a shutdown defensive d-man, with 3 minutes a game on the PK, like 0 time on the PP. While myers time on ice included 3 minutes a game on the PP. |

2 years ago, Enstrom went down with an injury and Trouba was given powerplay time on the left side.
During that stint, which laster about 10 games, he produced something like 7 points.
Sure it's a short amount of games but I'm confident that, if given the chance, that young man will show everyone how good he can be. |

No, it doesnt seem so....Drouin's a good example. - Garnie
Nor should they. Players are the workers, not the owners. |

A highly qualified worker holds alot of power to negociate a better situation for himself... if not with his current employer then with another. |

You're right.
It all comes down to who can afford to hold out longer.
The Jets seeing the value of their asset slowly drop and the offers becoming less and less interesting.
Or Trouba himself, who obviously cannot afford to not play hockey for a significant amount of time.
At some point, someone will cave.... and recent events suggest it might indeed be the player. |
