Gaunce is a total plug. Hope he improves but he has never impressed me

Gaunce won't beat out Granlund for a spot.

Like Chris Higgins. Canucks have a reputation of just handing out positions. If Bo outplays Hank do you see Hank being moved to the second line? Or if Sven is out scoring Danny?
- VANTEL

Yup, I have a hard time believing it will based upon performance. I imagine that barring injuries the roster is set already.

This.

We are going to have 10-12 guys fighting for 5 spots

Sedin/Sedin/Eriksson
Sven/Bo/??
??/Sutter/Hansen
??/??/??

This is actually very accurate.

I would agree coming out of camp Granlund is most likely to secure that spot but I wouldn't be surprised if Gaunce is here by the end of the season.

I know many disagree but I thought Gaunce looked really good despite not putting up points at the end of last year.

Hank or Dank had said they hoped that happens. Not because they dont want to play but rather it will mean they are playing well.

i don't have a hate on for Gaunce by any means - maybe i'm just missing something. In your opinion, what looked good about him?
cuts maybe he was responsible in his own end - but 1 point in 20 games even as a 4th liner just isn't good enough, no matter how defensively sound you are.

He didn't produce offense, he didn't hit and he is slow. What am I missing as well? I get that he wasn't a liability but that's the def. of a replacement level player

I think he looked good on the pk and on the forecheck he also looked dangerous offensively at times but didn't get rewarded IMO. It was his first 20 games as a rookie compared to 16 from granlund who has played 100 now?

He also didn't get the PP time. We will see but I still think he ends up as an effective 3rd liner. People are impatient but imo his development is exactly where it should be.

I don't know who has a Gaunce boner. I know I dont . I have him battling against Granlund and Burrows.

Our fourth line sucks so far that is a why I wanted Canucks to go after Matt Martin this year. People are penciling Gaunce in because there are very few options.

I think that line has the most potential. Would love to see it gel.
- dbot

yes I agree. Although rodin is highly skilled too.

If burrows comes in why renewed speed those 2 could put opposing teams into fits

Agreed.

He put up impressive shot totals (28 in his final 13 games) getting 4th line minutes and 60% D-zone starts. Good possession as well.

Second worst PDO on the team (and worst on ice sh% on the team other than Freisen and his whopping 1 game sample) explains why is output is especially bad.

Granlund has more offensive upside and isn't waiver eligible...this is a silly argument, Gaunce will be in the minors until there is an injury

I don't know that Rodin is highly skilled. I know they have talked about possibly second or third line minutes but need to wait and see.

The thing I don't like about most rosters being posted is is Etem is being slotted to fail.

I know when he played for the Ducks we all sat here and salivated. He was part of every trade offer.

He showed speed and toughness last year and I think he has potential. Canucks should give him a chance to show what he can do.Playing 8 minutes a night is setting him up to fail.

Sedin Sedin Loui
Sven Bo JV/Rodin
Etem Sutter Hansen
Burrows/Gaunce Granlund /Gaunce Dorsett

- VANTEL

Ill agree 100% with that. Seems many posters just simply repeat what they read a few times on here or in the province.
I like burrows with granlund and dorsett as well as its more of a shutdown line and burrows is excellent defensively

I doubt the sedins will be 2nd line. Usually you dont demote the captain....They are still premium talent anyways

I don't put a lot of trust you n SEL though. I hope he is good. I think he has potential but until he proves it here I don't label as high skilled.

Nitpicking
