Pearson could be a good pick one behind Matteau, Severson was a steal in the 2nd, and some steals were in the 3rd round with Ghost, Matt Murray and Frederik Anderson. Overall a pretty weak draft crop compared to recent years.

We beat the flyers 2-0 to! Both the flyers squads got shut out last night.

Strong showing in that Montreal game yesterday and so I'm offering my useless two cents on the players. Hall and Henrique were flying but I do get the feeling that DSP was lagging behind. Merill was the least impressive of a lot of defenseman, including Auvitu, Santini, Mozik and obviously Moore. Auvitu and Santini particularly deserve starting jobs based only on their efforts from the game. McLeod was aggressive and it gave him a goal but he got absolutely laid out at least once because the defenders expected him to fly full speed up the boards. Q was alright, nothing special. Speers was very fast and even good on backcheck. Blackwood made some impressive saves and generally faired well.

But once I do get hooked up, does anyone know if streaming NHL games can be done from slingtv, roku or anything of that sorts. I refuse to pay for cable so the internet I hear is the future. If you have links or info, you can message me or I'll give you my email. The only time I saw hockey games last season were at bars and I was already seeing doubles by the time the game came up.

Idk, i actually didnt think merrill was bad. I agree on the hall rico DSP part. Hall is so fast he can make everyone look like they are behind tho. I tho Auvituu looked good. Our first was so sloppy, but we kind of controlled the game form the second on. I thought blandisi looked pretty good after the first. Mozik looked solid. Wedgewood looked real good. McCloud is fast, but he got absolutely trainwrecked. He needs to keep his head up more. He also got beat on the first goal, reacting too slow to the guy cutting to the middle. Bastian was solid. Moore i thought didnt look great. Santini wasnt very noticeable, which for his position and game is good. Overall just the first preseason game, but its hard not to feel somewhat optimistic seeing hall fly. When he split the defenders for that partial breakway that i think hit the crossbar he did like two strides and burned them

You never hope for players to make mistakes, but for a young skilled player like McLeod to make mistakes early in the preseason while also contributing a goal is a great thing. He'll go over the video and use this experience as things to work on. Hell it was his first game against NHL players. Kind of obvious stuff but sometimes the worst thing a player can do is put together some flawless games early in their career and then struggle to be consistent with that standard. He's already a pretty big boy too at 6'2 and somewhere between 185-195. Usually players gain at least 10 lbs of muscle in year after they're drafted. I have pretty high hopes for him

We have great goaltending so it won't matter if we score six a game all season they will be saying we trap for a long time with Schneider, Wedgewood and Blackwood
