Trouba would give us a top paring for a long time...i would be willing to sacrifice Nylander for him. Not sure who would have to add...but with D being hard to find, i think we would add a bit. But what do i know. One thing i do know is I wouldn't deal Reilly or Marner for him. |

So Olympic hockey is better than this World cup thingy right?
I havent watch much WCH...I just really dont care that much about it..anyone else? - senstroll
Wouldnt say better, but it has been great hockey. Fast. Barely any whistles. I like Olympics, with national pride on the line. But young guns were fun to watch. Could have won it. |

I dont mind Trouba and think Burns would be awesome for the leafs.
But he'll be pricey and maybe a year or two ahead of their plans.
I think he's an FA next year right? - Fakepartofme
Yup.
He'd be excellent. Yes he'll cost a ton, yes it might be a little earlier than when the rest of the team should/could compete but he'd have a great impact and would be a great leader for the team. |

I prefer Olympic hockey, feel I much more invested in it. A medal carries much more weight than that crappy hockey trophy the NHL created.
However, this tourney has been fun to watch, I'll admit. I paid more attention to it than I thought I would.
Im not sure about the 3 game series for the final yet though. |

I doubt their Carlyle-esk run and gun style would lead to victory over 3 games.
You gotta play D |

I asked a few weeks ago on this thread (in a blog Mike or Lucas made about this topic) if people we're ready to include one of Nylander or Marner in a trade for Trouba (which is probably what it would take to acquire him) and most here didn't feel like it was a good idea.
But accepting to trade Marner for Trouba is about the same thing as saying the Leafs should have drafted Hanifin.
I think they should have but what's done is done. |

I agree on the Olympics... I really only watched the last half of Can/Rus game..once it was 4-2 I turned it off
I think it might have to do with the time of year and Jays for me...hockey not #1 yet |

I like hanafin too. D take longer to mature...and team will prob still be drafting high. Which means you can select forwards after and they will mature together Plus not a fan of small wingers...but watching marner last year, he looked legit. |

How is that Trouba asked for a trade in May but the Oilers still managed to somehow not swing a Hall for Trouba deal instead of what they actually did? |

Didn't want to trade within the conference in case the trade blows up and happens to be horribly one sided against them? |
