I think you have to add crosby and lemieux. Generational by definition is the best of a generation and Crosby has been head and shoulders over everyone else for the last 10 years. Lemieux is probably the second best forward of all time. Time will tell if Mcdavid qualifies but I think he's well on his way. They've been throwing the word around alot even with Matthews. I think he has Tavares potential, so a good 1st overall not generational.

The Tavares comparison looks fairly accurate but it is really early to say that stuff.

Lemieux was the same time as Gretzky, Crosby, probably yes.

Eichel ... maybe someday, but I seriously doubt it.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA.. oh dear. I didn't get it until i read your comment and looking at the picture again. I'm wiping coffee off my computer monitor at the moment. LOL

Looks like the City of Edmonton needs some help in the mascot department.

I don't think its impossible to have 2 generational talents at the same time. Orr Howe and gretzky all played at the same time. Staggered a bit from when they started. I dont know how you could question whether or not the guy with the second best pts per game in the history of the sport was a generational talent.

Edit: Eichel wasn't even the best player in his draft year let alone generation

Not even close. Look at the replies to the original tweet to see the hero charts. Risto is good on the PP (~50% of pts on PP last year), but still a bit of a tire fire in his own end.

Easy way to achieve that:

1) Identify stupid GM (maybe Chevvy? I'm not sold on him)

2) Call them lots.

3) Ensure that Chiarelli is negotiating for them

Maybe Lidstrom. He was IMO the best of that time. Niedermeyer was close though.

if Eichel doesn't reach his potential then its because he didn't have an elite winger to play with... like Jimmy Vesey.

Well it's not GMTM's fault then since he wasted a 3rd round pick trying to get him.

I would put Crosby slightly ahead of Lindros...but its close, Lindros was awesome
At this point in time I expect Mcdavid to be equal to Crosby

The list was meant to be chronological. But yeah, I agree with that.

Lidstrom is the best D I've ever seen play in real time. But the rest of the list were all guaranteed to be NHL superstars by the time they were in their mid teens, which is where the difference is, I think.

Which side does Rielly play? Left?

If that's the case the Leafs should really try and get Trouba to get a superstar first pairing for a (frank)ing decade...

But where do Brent burns and Doughty play when they become FA's?

Kidding, Doughty hates the leafs

Decent 2nd pairing I'd say.

But I'm one of the guys saying Burns should be a target for the Leafs if he becomes a UFA... wheter he does sign there in the end remains to be seen.

I'm just a huge Trouba fan.

I dont mind Trouba and think Burns would be awesome for the leafs.
But he'll be pricey and maybe a year or two ahead of their plans.
I think he's an FA next year right?
