trouba's name is too close to the word trouble for my liking.

i dont give a flying (frank) how good he is or isnt.

This is sound logic.

Actually I am not necessarily sold on Trouba but what he represents in terms of potential has HUGE value. Gardiner is a marginal 3/4 and Kapinen is where on our forward depth prospect list?
- Aetherial

If we move Gardiner, who's in the 3 hole?

I'd take this post down before Spatso and his buddies come in and make fun of all of us. Offering Leaf trash for solid prospects. Why not ask for Perron as well?
- BetterCallSaul

on that note... has Spatso showed up since the WCoH got underway... I would love to hear his analysis of Laine versus Matthews... and other related tidbits...

Represents in terms of potential. Gardiner is a known commodity. He's an exceptional skater, a decent point producer and prone to the occasional gaff in the defensive zone. He's a good 2nd pairing defenceman on very team friendly contract. Trouba is probably going to cost more in terms of cap hit, and may not be any more than a 2nd pairing defenceman. The potential is there to be better, yes, but it's also there for him to not be much more than what he is.

This hypothetical trade could just be a lateral move. You trade a quick 2LD for a more physical 2RD. I get the RD should carry more value, as they seem to be a rarity, but the gap between the two players' value isn't all that drastic in my opinion.

Pretty sure Lou Lams would consider a Gards for Trouba trade simply because Trouba has a lower roster number. "Hmm. #8 is much lower than #51!"

Dude on Saturday I was ordering Japanese food and asked for 2 orders of Losbter rolls and 2 orders of BBQ Eel Dynamite rolls along with an appetizer and a stew. The lady was like "The total comes to $104.00." I sort of freeze up because I thought it was just 2 of each roll, not like a giant thing, but I was caught so I said "ok." She then says how many people, so I was too embarrassed and said "4." I got 4 miso soups for free and had 40 rolls of sushi and 3 days of food.
