I wonder what people think of bringing in Dustin Brown (for Mac - IF it came to it). Obviously this is just blog talk but....if the Kings retain $1M, making him a 4.875 cap hit (slightly more than MacArthur).... I'm assuming they place Mac on LTIR. Ofcourse I'm talking if Mac is not coming back for sure.

Now, some people may say that this is still crazy, but if you break it down, it may be really beneficial. (1) it's not that Brown is 'broken down' or 'too old'..... he's 31 years old and in my opinion has the body to play atleast 2-3 quality seasons, and likely more if he avoids serious injury (2) Brown scored 11 goals with LA last season; but on a team that isn't a top 10 in goal scoring despite being cup contenders. Their a d-1st team. He did finish with 15 goals 2 years ago (when he lifted the cup as captain; for 2nd time). (3) that last point (4) The Sens don't need offence..... they need a guy that can come in as a top 6 role and bring quality play-- Brown is a proven leader (one of the best in the NHL) and has shutdown capability. Also can play on the PK and in key situations. (5) Sens have no problem with offence... and with guys like Hoffman, Ryan, Karlsson, Ceci - if the defensive side of the game is complimented well, this team could really gel and pave the way for the young players (Lazar, White, Brown, etc).

If the deal was on the table - MacArthur for Brown+?(4.875m) then would you do it today?

Enjoy it, because he's going to disappear for the next 10 games.

I feel the same way about Brassard. After one game, I can say he is a beter fit than Zibby.

He tried more and was harder on the puck in that exhibition game than Zibby ever was in the past two seasons.

Not to mention, he can actually pass the puck and recieve a pass.

Settle down folks. It's entirely possible for both teams to win a trade.

Bringing Dustin Brown would be stupid move in my opinion... 1st he's washed up, 2nd he's a RW and we need LW and 3rd he shoots Right and think we have more than enough right handed shooter on this team for now
