I think we should put the 3 young guns together . If not, I think 2 of the 3 will be on the same line come opening night. I do think a Brown-Bozak-Marner line would be pretty fun. Maybe keep Matthews-Nylander together and put a vet LW with them. and keep JVR/Kadri of course... 3 good scoring lines.

It's also hard to lump Brown and Leivo together when talking waiver eligibility vs merit. Mainly because Leivo's waiver status could very well play into him making the team over Brown, who is exempt.

At the end of the day, I do trust Babcock to do what's in the best interest of making this team as good as it can be, so come what may.

So they signed two UFA's and have a ton of holes to bring up rookies, to me this sounds like a pretty big opportunity - or just dismiss it completely, more opportunity this year than ever before. Let me ask you when is the last time the Leafs committed to rebuilding and infilling the roster with rookies?

Depends what you consider rookies.

If we go by NHL official statuses, Nylander, Rychel, Carrick and Leivo have played enough NHL games to not be considered rookies anymore

So if Matthews, Marner and Brown make it, I guess that makes 3?
