Anyone catch the first two games of the TOR v NY series? How did the BJs look? Was it the usual as of late which is that they won but off the back of the opponents sloppy play or could they be coming out the other side of this disaster a bit?

I was only able to catch the back half of last nights game and damn it was weird to see Osuna have a bit of an off night like that.

Best starting pitching in bball the last couple of weeks.

Also Lou said the other day in his training camp interview the other day that the Maple Leafs prospects will have an opportunity this year that they probably won't ever have again (meaning the roster has more free spots than ever before)

Just watching the video on the MacArthur hit. I wonder if that is the end of his career.... Too bad if it is.

Glad to see the Jays realized what "must win" was.
Lets go for the sweep.
Need to nail down the top wild card spot prior to Boston series so they can adjust their staff accordingly.

About the bolded, how is giving someone a spot on the team that they earned "rushing" them?

Brown and Leivo are like 22-23 or so with multiple years of pro hockey at the AHL level. They aren't exactly fresh out of junior here.

- WingmanWillie

We'll see...i just can't see them putting a player on waivers if they think they are going to lose them for nothing. Leivo will probably stay...Brown may go down due to being waiver exempt....but we'll find out soon enough I guess.

7 Left. Is 4 the magic number? Or is it 5 because Detroit can still reach 90?

Yikes. High. On the numbers. Into the boards. Against your teammate.

He looked to be in really bad shape getting up from that.

Richardey to get one start down the stretch which puts Sanchez as the starter for the WC game.

I have never seen a rookie take out a vet and then have 2 guys go after him, then they had to remove the kid from the ice.. Dumb kid.. Take out your own team mate.

MacArthur only play 4 games last year, I believe.

The pitching has returned to what it was earlier in the season. Imo that's the biggest difference so far. Bautista is starting to look like himself and Donaldson is coming back that's what they needed. I still feel like the bats are not where they could be. But getting there when we need it.

That's good news. I saw some really good base running yesterday which was good. (And some terrible running by Beltre )

Mentioned above, does it makes sense to have someone "lined up" for the WC game already? It's tough to think who should go in considering the way the last month or so has gone.

Its gotta be JD's big white kicks....lol
This is where JoeyBats earns back all the money he lost this season.
The pitching has been good
The hitters are hitting.
Joeybats seems to be back
small ball plays are being a factor.

So last Friday at 230am I woke up wide awake with a voice inside me saying "You have to quit smoking now James".....this freaked me out even though I had been thinking about it for the last few months....so many reasons...but this voice that I couldn't recognize was so vivid and firm that I knew it was a sign not be ignored...and I knew that my wife was just waiting for my queue, and she was going to quit as well....We are both almost 50 years old.....I've been smoking cigarettes 1 to 2 packs per day for the last 33 years....and my wife has started menopause.....this is not going to be easy...I've quit a few times before and I remember the triggers that made me start back up again...so I spent Friday talking to my wife and prepared to quit by choice...no cessation pills/gum/patches/vapes just cold turkey by choice and there's a pack of smokes in the cupboard for when the mindgames start...and they did....I told her that I'm approaching this as a choice...I choose to not smoke...if I can't stand the mind(frank) anymore, grab a smoke out of the cupboard and light it up and think about my choice to not smoke and why....finish the smoke, put it out, don't beat myself up over it and carry on with my life choosing not to smoke...so Saturday rolled by and I had 2 smokes instead of 32 smokes...Sunday rolled by and I had 0 smokes...today so far, 0 smokes.....I haven't slept well for 2 straight nights, waking up at 200am and just laying still and calm until the alarm goes off at 530....I'm farting like crazy and a mild case of the poops...my face is tingling and and my eyes are glazed over...I feel like I'm in a delerium daze kind of...like I smoked a joint but I didn't....did I tell you the wife has started menopause??? yeah that's nice....so the days are filled with each of us apologizing to each other and saying we got this...

I got this.

- jimi james

Awesome man. This is my 1st day of not smoking too. I'm 33 and smoked since i was about 16.

Good luck. You got this.

So they signed two UFA's and have a ton of holes to bring up rookies, to me this sounds like a pretty big opportunity - or just dismiss it completely, more opportunity this year than ever before. Let me ask you when is the last time the Leafs committed to rebuilding and infilling the roster with rookies?

No, ups and downs dont last a month and usually dont involve almost every person on a team at the same time.
Ups and downs are par for baseball.....this was much more than that.
The players themselves, knew they had some momemtum, knew it was a series they had to win...lets hope they stay hot going into the playoffs.
