Mathieu Perreault wants to know "how much more" Jacob Trouba wants. Per Perreault, "This guy plays big minutes, 22 minutes, and he's gonna complain some sort of way about his ice time?"

Just a thought: Trouba plus for Seabrook? Lose an aging Seabrook with an 8 yr - 6.85 mil contract, 3 rings, experience, propensity for scoring timely goals, big hits...for a 22yr old with a bright future??? With the physical game he plays, will he be broken down in a few years? Solves the Panarin resigning issue. Gives the Jets another solid blueline leader. Maybe with the plus we get our missing top 6 winger? Would he waive his NTC? Might solve some of our issues...and create others. Again, just spitballing. |

Could you get Trouba to come here and wait a yer to be the top four RDman?
Because I KNOW what Seabrook brings NOW to a Cup run.
Long term I would love Trouba as a guy who develops more fully into a physical force and offensive contributor... |

I'm sure he'd love a chance at a cup. He might be willing to wait that year with a team with a good cup chance. I love Seabrook and would hate to see him go. But IMO with the way he plays, just don't believe he's going to be worth the contract in a few years. I could be wrong, but I don't have that crystal ball. I do 100% agree with you on his value in a cup run today. |

The rule of thumb is, if Gretzky got traded than anyone can get traded...
So with that said, Chi-fans, is there anyway the Hawks trade Kane for something that they currently do not have? Like, would Kane be traded in next few years for a top goalie? Another D to replace Keith? Hot prospects? Hard to imagine but dangle and name like Kane I'm sure you can ask for anything? - Leniwm1
Hawks have a top goalie, so no. Could they trade him in a few years for need? Sure, anything is possible. |

Now this is what I would look into.
I think Seabs is a little overrated but one thing the Hawks love is the stretch pass and Seabs has shown he can make it. I think he is overpaid and the Least important member of the core that can be moved. I think Hossa bounces back. I would love to see a trade like that and replace one core player with another (potentially) and maybe you can get him to resign with the hawks for a long term deal for less than Seabs and you save money. Use the same money to resign Panarin and see what happens. Not sure if you coud ask for more though but maybe the Plus is small. No idea.
I do not think theres anyway it happens just because the hawks love Seabrook (IMO more than they should) and he already knows everything. I do not seem them moving a core player because of the risk of Trouba not filling in as well. |

JJ,
After seeing Kempny playing a significant role for the Czech Republic can you give some of your thoughts on how me might transition to the Hawks this year? - HockeyBatman
Probably slowly, third pairing, he may sit some nights too. He made some mistakes here and there on smaller ice against the best competition in the world, Q will keep him on a short leash until he is reasonably sure they're been minimized, but the talent is obviously there |

The ONLY way the Hawks trade Kane is if he "regresses" as far as off-ice behaviors. Until something like that happens, he's a Hawk.
And even then, no guarantee he gets dealt, because of his cap hit and the fact that his "malfeasance" might present similar issues for any team trading for him. |

Kane and Keith both have full NMC with too many years left on them for either to waive to potenitally/likely lose them. Something they didn't have to worry about with Gretzky. - L_B_R
NMCs can be waived, but point taken. Again, it would take a really sticky, unpleasant situation for the Hawks to deal Kane and/or for him to waive, but stranger things have happened. And I have reason to believe the Hawks would have leverage in Kane's case. |

No surprise there. He wasn't going to play for the Hawks this year. |

Is this non-sense serious?
Kane "can" be traded, but WHY would we trade him for a replacement for Keith? Where is Keith going? A top goalie? Why do we need to replace Crawford? I know he has only been able to win 2 Stanley Cups and nearly single-handedly win a third Cup (2014)....what KIND of sense is any of your questions?
ANY trade involving Kane is NOT for a Crow or Keith replacement, because NEITHER NEED to be replaced, but rather for:
-Salary cap relief
-Stocking pipeline with picks and specs
Not a damn thing more and not a damn thing less.
If you are talking about "in a few years" to mean 3+ years we do not know what the situation will be with the Hawks team then so speculating on trades involving a team that currently does not exist is folly. |

I was less than thrilled with his play in his own zone to be honest. He was over-matched in the game against Canada. Right now I see no chance he is on the 2nd pair....I think third pair will be OK for him though and we'll see if he can develop. I do like his offensive instincts though and he does not appear to be a cowardly wuss like Rundblad. |

I saw very little of his play. Didn't watch Czech very much. From what I read and hear, I'm going to cut him some slack a bit because he was playing against super talented teams like Canada for example.
I've watched a bit of Europe and liked what I saw from Hossa, Kopitar, and Josi. Josi is really spearheading that defense. Great defenseman. Really like his game. |

I didn't think he was that bad. He was clearly overwhelmed at times, but that's not really odd since that whole team was out classed and he was getting number one minutes. |

I think most are overlooking the fact that it was also his first tournament on North American ice since the WJC in 2010
Probably should give him a little slack to adjust to the physicality and timing of the smaller surface. |

And almost no comparison in terms of the level of competition. TVR (assuming he's still around in a month or longer) should make a nice, steadying partner for him. I also think that's the main (only) reason Rozy was re-upped, other than experienced depth. To on-ice mentor and stabilize the kid. |

Anyone who also watched the exhibition games (Which were played in Russia), he was excellent and arguably the best dmen on the ice for those games. It wasnt until the games moved to North America that he kind of disappeared back into the fold.
Its harder to for him to adjust because its such a shock of what he is used to and the timing. Guys like OV, Malkin, Panarin, etc can adjust their games on the fly because they know how to play both sheets.
Right now Kempny only knows how to play Euro ice, and he does it very well. Give him a couple months to get comfortable and just pray Q doesnt doghouse him before then |
