I really like Dineen. I am glad he didn't take an HC job somewhere else. If Q ever retires and Dineen is still here, I want him promoted to HC.
- JRoenick97

I always wonder how much Q runs the ship there. Like if he really lets his assistants coach and handle their responsibilities or if he overrides them with his preferences

I said that the day Dineen got hired. Still think that way.

Two things

1. If we can find a 3rd line that score and check out of Training Camp plus a 1ST line LW the will Hawks contend.
2. The Johny Hockey deal in Calgary will tell us the market value of Panarin.

Left: D. Keith ($5,538,462) - B. Campbell ($1,500,000) - M. Kempny ($700,000) - G. Forsling ($872,500)

GOALTENDER (2)
C. Crawford ($6,000,000) - S. Darling ($587,500)

DETAILS
Roster Size: 23
NHL Salary Cap: $73,000,000
Bonus Overages: $3,070,000
Cap Hit: $71,731,795
Cap Space: $1,268,205

Schmaltz/Toews/Panik
2nd line like last year
Vinny/Kruger/Hossa
Desi/Moose/Tootoo

This also keeps Forsling on the team...so 13 forwards and 8 defensemen. Maybe one of the D-Men become expendable/tradeable for a forward as the trade deadline gets closer. I thought Schmaltz, Vinny, Panik, Forsling, Kempny and Darling stood out yesterday. If you can split up the rookies I think it's a good idea. Schmaltz looks controlled and smooth and moves the puck well. Can't wait for regular season.

I've really been surprised by the play of Nielson in the World Cup. Guy is just a solid hockey player. I Like the Tatar-Toews-Hossa line. Whoops! I meant Kopitar not Toews

The Blackhawks app is essentially dead. Just got forced over to the NHL app, which has a completely different and less team specific interface. Hate it on iPhone. Can't get it to work on iPad where it won't load any Blackhawk specific content. It also forced me to the NHL app and when I told it no locked my iPad to the point where I had to fully shut down to get it unlocked.

What a play by Toews for the setup...created a nice big lane right up the middle and handed it to him.

My report card
Schmaltz has speed took hits well which they said is his weakness disappeared towards the end.
Motte no way making the roster this year like some were hoping.
Johnson looked solid needs seasoning.
Tootoo good fight a couple of nice defensive plays wish he dropped the gloves right away he always jumps guys or baits them.
Hartman invisible at 1st found his stride towards the end with nice hits.
Hinostroza speed noticeable but that's it
Lundberg invisible.
Forsling solid.
Svedberg never gonna be nhl caliber if he was more physical could've been a 7th dman in the day but he's not.
Polka really slow foot speed like Matt walker slow but not strong on his skates or physical like walker. Just a ahl player

I turned on the game as Forsling whiffed on that Campbell pizza leading to the second goal and said, meh...

If he's that good he needs to be back in Sweden to protect from the expansion draft, and if he's not, well it won't matter.

He should be in the AHL bulking up and getting used to the N American ice if he wants to play in the NHL and be better than the typical European player.

He is not eligible for Expansion draft: Neither is Schmaltz, Motte, Kempny, Gus, Panarin. Guys that are TVR, Pokka, Hartman would be out best propsects along with Darling assuming we protect Craw.

The one thing to remember is there are going to allot of good goalies and Dmen that are available and not nearly as many Forwards.

I know its only 1 game but it sure feels like we are 1 forward short for this year. I know its only one game but Trading for rentals cost a ton and do not seem to help. Forsling is going back to Sweden for 2 reasons. We already have 7 Dmen and Sved (waivers) and if he goes back his contract slides one year so he would be under ELC for this year plus 3 more. for a team up against the cap having a top 4 quality D for 3 years at $925 is a real value.

or best trade chips are either TVR or Pokka. Both are RD which adds value but a team might lose 1 on the EXP draft and we might lose the other and Gus since he is EXP draft Exempt, a team that is worried about losing a good D prospect might want to take a look at him if the Forward they are trading is also going to be exposed. Trading a player for a guy that does not need tob exposed is going tobring back some value. Guys are not going to trade for prospects that they could lose next summer. It would make them look real bad.

Apparently Tootoo and Sestito have big bad history and Sestito was the one asking him to go this time.

Is it wrong for me to have rooting against 19 last night? Still had a smile on the play he made, though.

Just really can't stand Crosby, and man has Marchand improved. What a bonus when a player like him improves his offensive game so much.

Hawks need one of those..........................

Come on there are at least 15 centers better than Toews in the NHL. Just ask that Coyote blogger.

The must protect Crawford as he has a NMC (unless he agrees to waive but that's highly unlikely for Vegas).

Forsling's contract will not slide - he turned 20 before Sept 15th this year (his signing year).

Marchand has improved, but he's almost always been a top 6 offensive threat. The only season in the last 5 that he's had sub-50 points was when he was skating with not as good players for half the year.

I t hink the slide has something to do with going back and playing in Sweden, this was from Scott powers a few days ago.

Add in that the Blackhawks can slide Forsling’s contract a season by sending him back to Sweden and can wait even longer to give him his next deal, and it would be truly surprising if Forsling is in North America when the NHL season begins unless there’s an injury.

in regard to Corey on Gapkeep is said Corey Crawford - NMC, modified NTC, So I'm not 100% sure what that means. I agree if the hawks are contraully agreed they have to protect him I don't think he would ever waive. I find it odd he has a NMC and Modified NTC and what years they apply too.
