Trouba isn't as good as people seem to think. He played a ton and was still at best the 4th best dman in the team. I'd move Trouba, Petan, and a 1st/2nd for Hampus Lindholm without hesitation.

Probably the stupidest rumor on this site, and that's saying something. Islanders wouldn't trade Hamonic for Taylor Hall; why would they trade him for a worse defenseman?

This is lazy rumor mongering. "Oh, Hamonic is from Winnipeg, so that means this deal could happen!"

I'm still pretty bullish on nurse and think his ceiling his very high regardless of his rookie struggles- but chia should be offering him + right now.

Pay trouba most of his silly demands on a medium basis too. He'll be worth it and then some in the near future

$5-5.5 for 3-4 years

Fixes our right side and improves us immediately.
and gives Winnipeg a leftie as they're full in the top 4 on the right side. and he's still cheap for awhile. Tough to give up that free expansion protection in nurse though

- HB77

If he would take that contract, I don't think he'd be requesting a trade. He obviously wants more than that.

it makes complete sense for the oilers. they get a stud LHD and he's going to be a #1 dman in this league. the oilers give up a prospect.

the jets get the other finn that they were high on. Morrissey starts on the Left side this year and is forced to sink or swim. He'd look good playing with Myers.

I don't understand how you believe this doesn't make sense for the oilers.....

- JetsAvs

Because Trouba's not that good. And Puljujarvi is one of the very best prospects around.

You're actually quite close to the kind of player Winnipeg would target, but that's a steep price to pay for two d-men almost at the same spot.

Anaheim needs a reason to do that trade, too, and I'm not sure acquiring Trouba is enough unless the trade blew their socks off, which wouldn't be good for Winnipeg.

LOL, Ek is pathetically tweeting anyone and everyone involved with Team Europe some stupid anthem mash up he made. And to top it off he is pretending like he's known about Trouba's trade request for a long time. Ahaha everyone is making fun of him.
- woopstash

Ek is quite used to everyone making fun of him. I'm not going to listen to his mash up. For if I were to, it would undoubtedly subtract years from my life. No different than any Spice Girls or REM song. That's Ek in the corner, losing his credibility...

I'm sure hamonic would be fine with it

Regardless of the supposed recovery of his family member, he'd still get to be close which is exactly what he wanted in the first place

Pretty solid hockey trade . Winnipeg gets a steadier hand and a great contract, but nyi prob wins in the long term

- HB77

yeah i don't know, not too many people are going to be thrilled with a move from New York to Winnipeg.

you should tell that to your jets fan pals. One of them is trying to push Trouba for Puljujarvi in the Jets thread.

There is NO WAY Garth is trading Hammer......Definitely not for this. He has one of THE best contracts for a D man in the league right now and we are in cap trouble due to GRABS and others.

Now, if PEG needed a goalie, then Halak and a pick may be offered.

By all accounts it also about his playing partner, playing left side, getting put on the 3rd pair behind two signed established top 4 guys on the right side etc.
Basically on ice stuff too

His agent flat out said as Much. Maybe it's bs, but yeah, we certainly can't say it's just about money until proven otherwise

Except for the guy who already asked for that move

Generally speaking you're 100% correct. Places like edm and wpg are like Siberia. Unless you're salt of the earth good ole Ryan smyth of course!!

But yeah, he's already requested it once. And despite the rescinsion (?) I can't see him loathing the move all of a sudden.

Here we go with the isles fans still on the hamonic = hedman train.
The last time I had a debate in their thread, one isles poster said if snow had the inclination the leafs would've dealt their first overall in Matthews for hamonic!!
Jesus..

Come back to earth people. Even if trouba is a step down defensively as of today, he has far more dynamic offensive skills and a way higher ceiling.

Maybe the rumour is bs, who knows? But there's some logic to it for a few reasons. And pure value based on all the factors is one.

Eichiefs and one or two others seems to be the only rational posters of the whole lot over there

With the Isles only $1m or so under the cap they're not going to trade for a defenseman that is going to hold out for bigger contract that would require them to go over the cap. This rumor is garbage and soooo stale already.

In 3 days it's going to be "Hamonic for Eberle picking up some steam."

But it's not really centered around hamonic per se. So I don't see how those oiler debates occur as you've stated.

It's a plausible deal in terms of troubas trade request. Which we know has happened.
And for obvious reasons that we also know are fact, hamonic probably isn't against a move to Winnipeg.

In terms of cap hit, just for argument sake, let's say trouba does want 6. Ud be giving 4 back and with a mil of space already in the bank , it's not impossible to make that room. Far from it in fact.

Yes, There's lots of reasons it might not happen. Namely just an ek rumour.
But imo, it makes sense for a few reasons

Lol. Hamonic is way better than Trouba, and this rumor is made up BS. Move along.

thr oilers didn't make him anywhere near the same offer. What's your point here? Is that a weak attempt at a jab ? I don't even get it

He requested a trade from LA to edm at the end of his career. Not many guys do that

Anyways, it was just a tongue in cheek comment

Keep up

Hamonic is in his prime so yeah, a step or two ahead today. Especially defensively as a pure shutdown guy.
But nowhere near as dynamic offensively and nowhere near the ceiling trouba has. Plus troubas game lends itself to be more of a two way guy and far more effective at both ends.

I'm sorry if that bothers you to hear about home team player- but it's true

It wasnt a jab by any stretch.......you were calling him salt of the earth, as if he was some savior. My point was that he left New York, and money on the table to sign in Colorado......not Edmonton.

Salt of the earth has no reference to "saviour" whatsoever

I think you misunderstood the use of the term

A good hearted albertan redneck that loves the oilers. His low skilled hard working style lends itself to that term too

How many guys In Today world would request a trade from glitzy playoff competing LA to bottom feeder northern Alberta!!?

whatever, it's not important. It was just a joke. Over it
