did the Bruins just give Brad Marchand 8 years at 6+ per year?
- dt99999

What did you expect him to get? He had 37 goals or something last season.

you don't think he'd get 7 or 8 years on the open market?

The max he could get on the open market would be 7 years I think, but yes, he would.

also i don't see why that matters if you're debating whether or not it's a good contract. asp thinks the Petry contracts is terrible and maybe it is. but he'd have gotten the same thing on the open market.

Well, you need arguments to tell why it's a bad contract. If it's just a feeling that you have, who cares? If you look at the market and what others players actually make, can't see why it would be that bad. Plek is making 6 millions. You don't need to be Crosby to make that kind of money in this league. 50-55-60 points will get you there or close to it.

I don't like Marchand's contract either. If I'm a Bruins fan I find 8 years to be a bit over the top considering his age.

personally i don't like any contract for 8 years when a player is in his late 20s. that's why i never had an issue with the PK contracts because it took him through his most productive years. with Marchand, i think it's fair to question whether he has made the jump to elite scorer or whether he just had a career year. certainly wouldn't be the first time a guy peaked later on (reminds me of Steen) but it's no sure thing. so you've got the gamble on his current production AND his age.

personally i think the goal should be to get a player locked into that 8 year deal when he's 24-25-26 (max). i don't like the trend today of giving 7-8 years to 21 year olds because i think it comes back to hurt the organization. unless you're talking about a guy like McDavid.

Load to St.Anger ranged from mostly poop to utter poop

Death Magnetic had some good songs, but sounded like poop and most songs were way too long.

Hard Wired was a good little old school, straight to the point thrash song.

This one is their first song in decades which reunites a nice hook, good harmonies, good riffs, a catchy, but not cringe-worthy (WE'RE SO (frank)ED!!) or needlessly-repeated-in-order-to-get-back-to-our-8-minutes-song-roots chorus, a solo not solely comprised of wah-wah, and in which we hear the bass. I

So yes, I'm surprised and - never thought it'd happen - pretty pumped for their new album

Scotiabank Centre in Halifax for tonight's Leafs preseason game.

Can you imagine the Habs logo in center ice of Québec City's Centre Vidéotron for the upcoming game vs. the Bruins.

I'm thinking full pitchforks riot, Labeaume would lead them and burn down the Nouveau Colisée himself.
