Really pulling for Cagg to make the team as a 4th liner.

As for the PP specialist, I wouldn't be surprised if Larsson was given a crack of a chance at the matter, especially considering how he was a PP specialist back in the Swedish league.

Lastly, have the problems relating to Klefbom's foot been fully addressed yet?

Yes they are but everyone enjoyed HonkyTonk Man way more than they ever did Jero. It was like the cool side of his personality. You know not the weird side that wanted to sodomise JB.

I am not expecting DC to make the team...rather he was also in the A.

As for Klef's foot...last I saw there was a fair amount of confidence that it was healed, but time will tell.

Solid FIST...though aren't Jero and HTM the same? I get lost in which avi is whose alt.

I hope Gryba shows well and gets signed for the 5-7 slot. He will give depth letting the team try BD with Sekera on the 2nd pair initially. If that doesn't go well Fayne can move up and BD can slot into 3rd pair with Nurse.

Klef/Larsson
Davidson/Sek....or...Sek/Fayne
Nurse/Fayne...Nurse/Davidson

Gryba

Nurse- Fayne was a disaster last year. Maybe it can be better this year, but that's not something I bank on when making an ideal starting line-up. You've gotta maximize each pairing's potential impact which is made more difficult with Fayne on the team. I'd aim for this:

Klef- Larsson
Sekera- Fayne
Davidson- Gryba
Oesterle

Sekera and Fayne fared okay against top opposition so it's logical that they could do the same against secondary competition. This also lets Davy get back to making a reasonably effective pairing with Gryba and gives the backend some extra push-back. I'm hard-lining on the Nurse to the AHL issue like I did with Leon last year- even if it's just for a few games. Oesterle doesn't need those heavy minutes in the way Nurse does and showcased a well-developed game at the end of the year so he makes more sense as a #7.

Ideally, I'd love to see them get a hold of Sproul and pair him with Sekera in a traditionally offensive pairing that we'd be otherwise lacking. Then we team could run 8D.

Klef- Larsson (18mis EV)
Davidson- Gryba/Fayne (15mins EV)
Sekera- Sproul (15mins EV)
Fayne/Gryba and Oesterle

From what I have seen the belief is that Nurse makes the team on his merit this year, so I doubt he gets sent back.

I have no issue with Sek/Fayne, and I know they did work well as a pair last year. My pairings were more for giving Davidson some leash and see how he plays up the line. For all Fayne's deficiencies he is a NHL caliber Dman, and until proven otherwise there are no better options for one of top 3 right side D spots. So I don't want to remove him unless necessary.

The familiarity that Fayne and Sekera have with each other makes it an easy pairing to return to if the experimentation doesn't seem to be working.

I don't see moves being made and think pining for a transaction to improve the team to be a futile activity at this stage of the season.

Doesn't have to be a trade as Sproul is waiver-eligible, but it's not like trades don't happen early in the season.

Point basically being the same as the one you made about putting Nurse/Fayne together. Don't put your hopes upon it working out.

'
fingers crossed

Getting Trouba on a decent deal (not giving Nurse, Klef or Larsson or top 3 centers) would make the team a definite playoff contender.

Klef/Larsson
Sek/Trouba
Nurse/Fayne

I used Davidson as return trade piece.

I would offer Eberle straight up or Yak + Fayne + 2017 1st rounder
And jump on it quick so he could still do training camp here!
