well, Skjei is the same exact age. is lefty. Obviously he isn't Trouba's caliber, yet, but he could be.

The Rangers aren't trading Ryan McDonagh away, and they would need to send salary Winnpeg's way to make a trade work.

One thing that could interest the Jets is that Skeji doesn't have to be protected in the expansion draft and as of now they are forced to protect big Buff and Enstrom because they have NMC's. That leaves them forced to leave one of Tyler Myers or Trouba unprotected if they signed him to an extension.

If the Jets traded for Skeji, they could protect Tyler Myers and not have to worry about protecting Brady Skjei.

Wouldn't it work both ways though? Like if we traded Skjei for Trouba, we have to protect Girardi, Staal and then either McDonagh or Trouba. So we'd be left exposing Trouba.
