I'm not sure Juolevi is nervous or 100% healthy. I was going through some pictures I took during the youngstars and in the 1st game he looked to be in some difficulty at the bench. At the time I thought he was winded but looking at the shots he seemed to be in pain.[/img]

I'm hearing that as well.

I am hearing the opposite. My source Greg told me after the Kane trade Virtanen would be promoted to the first line with the Sedins

I text him again asking what he meant. I think he thinks that Virtanen legitimately doesn't look as good as some of the other prospects that are there.

I am not sure how much you can learn from an informal skate up in Whistler

if only, i wouldn't mind it, but the more i think about it the more i am unsure if i would even want kane. but if he gave 100% that would be a decent top 6.

Reinforces what I've been saying all summer, Horvat is already more offensively talented than Sutter.

Informal Skate? Maybe Jake is the only person who thinks it is an informal skate. Guys are skating their bags off trying to make the team? If a prospect is not giving it his all during main camp then he doesn't deserve to make the team....

I agree with what your saying. But I am sure Jake doesn't want to ride the bus in Utica. If he actually isn't trying in camp than he will be a bust and the organization has a problem. Just saying, personally, I think he will be going all out this preseason and I won't place any stock in in a warmup at Meadow Park. I do appreciate the updates though. Any Canuck news is good

I am really hoping Jake is true to his word and really is going to show everything he has in hopes to bypass going to Utica and stick with the team.

Latest update is that Carcone is an absolute offensive beast. Tryamkin looks a bit sluggish and has some of the worst hands out of all the players lol

In a tournament like this where the sole purpose is to extract more money from Canadian fans, and for Bettman to play chicken with the IOC because they cannot land on which billion dollar organization will cover the $15 million in expenses - I am cheering for Sweden, and more importantly that none of the 6 Canucks get injured.

I do want to see Tryamkin Larsen more than Sbisa Larsen or Sbisa Tryamkin

good to hear cassells has improved, he looked good in Penticton. He had a pretty serious abdominal injury in junior and he played with it for 6 months leading the generals to the memorial cup championship, hes an nhler without a doubt if not this year then next year no need to rush him.

Not me...my rooting interests are clear also. Sweden/Canada final with a hard fought, clean checking, ref absent, entertaining game. Oh and Markstrom in net for the Sweds. Wouldn't mind if either team won.

This tournament had no national interest for me. Plus I'd like Ovi to get some credit... like I said before hockey is better when Russia is a legit competitive threat to win...

I think he has a chance to make the team but I personally feel he will be sent to Utica. He will have a way better opportunity to prove he can score there. If we are worse without him then so be it but I think they want to keep the kids insulated instead of have an all kids line.

Rodin and Larsen are the wild cards on whether Jake remains with the team imo. If they flop then maybe there is room but JB has already said he wants to carry 8 D so only 13 forwards will be on the team. At least for now.

That's what I'm hoping for, the 2 best defenses.

Notes from my buddy and his family who attend the camp every year.

Gudbrandson and Hutton look insanely good together so far. Real nice surprise.

Cassels has impressed us all. Wasn't expecting much but he can skate and play.

Pedan has looked incredible. He wants to make the team.

Larsen was paired with Tryamkin. Looks like a solid 3rd pair.

Jack Skille can snipe. Has an incredible shot.

Rodin is insanely fast.

Juolevi looks nervous

Stecher is his new favourite prospect.

Forward lines in practice:

Rodin - Sutter - Burrows
Bae - Horvat - Hansen
Etem - Granlund - Dorsett

- Codes1087

great to hear all this. Yes I really loved what I saw of game play on internet of RODIN. Seriously good player.

Stetcher I am extremely impressed with. He is exactly the type of D player we need offensively....playmaking quaterback type. Pair him with someone who has a blast of a shot.

Stetcher pretty much seals the coffin on subban ever wearing canucks jersey.

That's a tad harsh. Stetcher has yet to even play a single pro game, where as Subban was among the best of his rookie D peers in his first professional season.

Let's see how the pre-season plays out before we are willing to relegate careers.

Stetcher looked good in the Young Stars Tournament. I think the problem with Subban is size. He will be a late bloomer if he makes the NHL one day.
