I know everyone is going to say sample size, blah, blah....
But Laine going 2nd overall seems like a mistake to me.....and I said it at draft time.
I went in to today hoping he would be lighting it up so NA could play again but if I'm Winnipeg, after today and the previous games, I'd be concerned.
He just takes low chance shots which end up wasting the chance for any real play. Doesn't even try to make a play himself. And don't get me started on his skating... - underhill14
Could be coaching too... "get it on net and crash" type instructions |

So, Puljujaarvi or Dubois would be the right choice at #2? |

Always thought Pullyurjaarvi was the better pick....out of the top 5 maybe even Tchachuk.
My 1, 2, 3 would have been Matthews, Pullyurjaarvi, Tchachuk. I believe in 3-5 years they will be the better players. |

Oh boy. Just realized that by the end of day today Detroit AND Houston can be tied for the second wild card spot. |

Assuming that Russia holds on to its lead over Finland, TNA's tournament is over.
Do we see another U24 Can/US/Mexico team if there's another WCH in 2020?
If so, that means McD, Matthews, Eichel can't play for their countries. Maybe they'd make it U23, or give each country 2 exemptions to add underagers if they wanted to?
Otherwise, I wouldn't be surprised to see players like that boycott the tournament. |

It means you need to calm the hell down with all these proclamations. You're saying Winnipeg made a mistake picking Laine at #2 based on less than 60min of him being on the ice FFS. |

Jays are (frank)erood. They hit quite a lot of home runs though, which is nice. |

At this point all I care about is getting a wild card spot and winning the WC game so they can play a series vs. Texas.
Anything more is gravy. Anything less would be heartbreaking. |

I'm thinking the Danes and Norwegians could be a force in 4 years, or at least good enough to beat Torts and the United States of Abdelkader. |

Totally understand that point and it's valid.
But I've watched him play more than just this World Cup....not a lot but some....just don't see enough of the raw talent or speed for the NHL.
I've seen a few nice highlight goals but even Luke Schenn had one of those. |

Was I not calm with my typing???
And yes, I am saying Winnipeg made a mistake, my opinion, thought so back then and it's not from just 60m.
PS, when you're a mod then you can tell me to calm down, until then (frank) off. |

I just can't see Chevy banging his head against his desk yelling "God dammit did I ever F up picking Laine 2nd overall, I wish I had a do over." But hey I could be wrong. Laine for Halak and a 2nd... |
