Leaving guys like Shat, Faulk, Statsny, Kesel etc at home in place of talentless scrubs like Abdelkader and Dubinsky is classless on the part of USA hockey - they essentially said that they didn't want to show up and play hockey, and the response from their fan-base immediately after the team announcement backs that up.

Nah, the announcements for the team (both the initial 16 and the latter 7) were made prior to him disclosing surgery.

Moreover, he was also their best player in Sochi. I don't think anybody out-produced his 8 points in 6 games.
