Mocking the team? Really? If this was Luongo or that other top notch athlete comedian Biznasty people would be making (frank)ing tshirts and loving it.

right after they lost and were eliminated?

(frank)... hold off for a couple days and let the disappointment subside.

classless move.

keep telling yourself that... lols...

gonna be great to watch the ruskie - swede battle royale...

but the most ridiculous thing is that idiot coach didn't tell NA players they have to win in regulation... they didn't go for it balls out cuz they thought they get in with any kind of win...

lols, stupid oilers coach and staff can't get anything right. team NA got screwed over with the oiler connection.

- kaptaan

Lols indeed. Sedinx2 have been great players, but they're definitely past their best. Forsberg et al are the future of the Swedish forwards. It's okay though, keep holding on to the past.

C'mon, all he was saying is that he should have bben doing something important, like playing for team USA.
But that idiot management team didn't pick me..

- the_eye

holy (frank)... you guys sincerely dont see it do ya?

put yourself in team USA's shoes... as a player... you just lost and you american peer makes fun of it

how the (frank) would you feel? i would wanna smash that ugly face into the boards so damn hard that it would somehow get uglier.

saw that... and i replied.

as for kessel... anyone who kicks someone while they are down is a pathetic loser imo

- Dozzer

Kessel closed the door for playing on team USA. I liked the tweet, coming from an introvert, it was funny.

no... its not... you are only siding with kessel cause as a canadian you have biased animosity toward teams USA

it was a douche move... plain and simple... canadians are just loving him for it cause it got a laugh...

a laugh at his peers expense.

doesnt get anymore douchie than that

- Dozzer

Calm down.

....but on topic...

If the players know Kessel to be a joker...they might not be too mad about the tweet.

But, if they know him as locker room cancer then he's screwed. If he starts getting plowed by American players next season I guess we will know why we only got Harrington, Kapanen and a late 1st for him.

Personally i'd be shaking my head as to why he and others werent invited.
But not if i was one of the scrubs that wasn't making the team if he was there.

well... if you were the coach of the olympic team USA and knew that bringing kessel into the room with a bunch of guys he pissed off massively would create locker room issues do you pick him?

(frank) no you dont.

he may be king of twitter right now... but he only (frank)ed himself in the long run

hockey players are supposed to have class... kessel showed none

- Dozzer

Nah, this is a team who slapped an A on the chest of a guy with multiple accusations of sexual assault and one proven accusation of beating a cabbie over change. That's classless, and a slap in the face to many hockey fans.

Snubbing one of their best players in an attempt to play an archaic game, that's a slap in the face. Leaving guys like Shat, Faulk, Statsny, Kesel etc at home in place of talentless scrubs like Abdelkader and Dubinsky is classless on the part of USA hockey - they essentially said that they didn't want to show up and play hockey, and the response from their fan-base immediately after the team announcement backs that up.

If the battle is between Kessel and team USA, then Kessel won hand over fist. Everyone will remember that team that did a horrible job of picking players, mainly not picking Kessel. Dude just won a cup, he owned them like a boss. Maybe Phil is speaking for American hockey fans, don't they deserve a voice?

the players themselves expressed how that tweet was in bad taste... look at parise's comments about it for instance

His comments are silent farts and fairy dust compared to those of the public. Watched the Canada game at a local bar here and people were just ripping into the team.

the players will still be there

management is part of the team... so you mock management you mock the team

management was who picked this team... by making fun of management you are basically saying the team they picked was crap

how are the players gonna feel about that?

- Dozzer

Half of them should feel like crap.

The truth hurts...

Nah, the announcements for the team (both the initial 16 and the latter 7) were made prior to him disclosing surgery.

Moreover, he was also their best player in Sochi. I don't think anybody out-produced his 8 points in 6 games.
