This has to be put on the GM more than the coach.

Coach only uses the materials (players) he has at hand.... not like Torts decided the direction or anything...

they were nowhere ready to compete against Canada... Europe or anything else...

Torts had input on the roster. His hand prints were all over it with the naming of Jack Johnson, Dubinsky and Abdelkader. Palmeiri is another name that comes to mind that was somewhat random. Yep, he scored 30 for the Devils last year, but had little degree of success or impact before that.

Yes and no. Torts did have input into the roster selections. I can't imagine most coaches would accept choosing a turd like Dubinsky over much better goal scorers.

Look... USA didn't have a chance against Canada, but there's no excuse to not win a single game. I blame the coach there. I didn't watch every minute of every US game, but when I did watch they looked alarmingly unmotivated. That's on the coach. I'd easily say the majority of periods the USA was going through the motions.

Nah. They just sucked. GM put together a horrendous roster. Coaches and GM both deserve blame. Don't even consider Torts a coach anymore, he's (frank)in clownshoes.

A notable D pair that sticks out is Pouliot with Daley. Can't get over how fit Pouliot looks. It's seriously impressive. -MC per pens inside scope

Everyone's been slobbing on his nob this off season. This could finally be the year he breaks out!

Am I the only 1 that didn't take PK's tweet as a jab at Team USA? Maybe i'm looking to much into it but I thought the point of saying he couldn't put his finger on it was his quarky way of saying he couldn't have played because of his hand. I took the whole thing as an attempt to be comical similar to how Bennett tweeted out that he would have made Team NA if he were younger and better at hockey.

He really does look in much better shape. The reporting on Pouliot has been really encouraging this summer. I think this kid gets it now.

He will play at some point whether it's because of an injury or someone playing themselves out of the lineup. He needs to grab that opportunity by the horns when he gets it. I think he's finally ready to.
