I've been a ranger fan since 62 and have seem some bad teams/players and still cheer them on BUT if Lapierre make this club I just may be done
- way out west

No way he or Glass make this team, with the chance we wouldn't have an unknown amount of players for Camp they brought in a free player

I may have homer glasses on, but I think defensively speaking they will be better. McIlrath is better than Boyle defensively, same goes for Skjei over Yandle. Girardi will be healthy not playing on a cracked kneecap. They are definitely going to lose points from the D so I think this year the offense has to step up.

The D USB back to being underrated, replacing Boyle with Skjei is an upgrade, Yandle won't be missed IMO and you're right about Girardi I just don't know about Staal, my guess is he will replace Girardi and the target for blueshirt bumholes

Even though this was a disaster I think Step and Mac were clearly two of the better players for the US

C'mon, even TPC would own up to those stats, except for Kreider breaking Gretzky's single season record.

I'm not sure about that. AV loves Glass as much as he hates grit. I don't get it, unless Glass has pictures of AV with sheep.

Jan, do you (or anyone) have a numerical training camp roster? I can't find one anywhere...

Agreed. I don't remember who was signed and who just got a PTO, but at least a couple of these guys have to be here only as warm bodies for camp. WAY to many forwards for everybody to get consideration.
I hope some of the young guys have made enough progress to warrant a shot. I'd like to see that over a bunch of guys that can't last anywhere else.

Canada vs Team NA not likely to happen - ever
- 21peter

Don't understand why they didn't make this a pre-tourney game. Those were the only ones they had control over.
It would have been fun to watch, but after watching them against Sweden, I think the defensive miscues would have piled up for NA. Tons of skill and speed, but savvy vets can induce turnovers pretty frequently.

Great thing about this is hopefully anyone involved in this is never involved in USA international play ever again.

Tortorella, Lombardi and Poile should be banned from USA hockey forever.

90% of these PTO's are guys who weren't even in the league last season, warm bodies is wxact

I keep forgetting he even coached.

I'd like to see him fired, but in a more....literal sense

I did not see him once on the bench. I had no idea he was even there till someone mentioned it on your blog.

Yeah, I guess I am subconsciously blocking him out until I absolutely have to look at his dumb face during the regular season.

Every once and awhile after an Isles game I'll be on the computer and forget to switch the channel, but once Capuano's press conference comes on I'm looking around for the remote like my house is on fire and the remote is the only extinguisher. I hate that man.

True. Its a tough one. Butchies ramblings or Cappy's postgame that sounds nothing like what took place during the actual game.
