it's just that it brings back painful memories for Leafs fans...not sure why they would bring it up, kind of cruel of Sportsnet....the Leafs owners

Don't agree about Marner "stumbling".

He wasn't dominant. If you expected him to rack up the points with totally new linemates in a couple games, I guess he failed.

Did it occur that management already know about his offensive game and pushed him to show he could play solid defensive hockey too? When Kadri first tried to enter the league, everyone knew he had offensive upside, but everyone criticized his defensive lapses. Kadri was sent down not because he couldn't generate offense, but because he was a defensive liability - Marner clearly is not.

He did however show a solid two way game and at times made some excellent plays that showed off his offensive side. A couple of times he made plays that could have resulted in goals if his teammates had been as skilled as he is.

I expect as he goes through training camp and the preseason he will find his groove. Likely by the time the regular season starts he'll be showing us all how much he belongs on the big club.

Uh oh, sounds concerning. Not everyone is able to make the jump to the NHL and the Leafs haven't been so great at cultivating home grown talent. Toronto Sun better get down there and find out what's wrong. Babs is gonna have to earn his money, he didn't inherit a super power like he did in Detroit.

Cherry really should retire, but I doubt he will ever retire willingly at this point unless for family or health reasons or something similar. He loves it too much.

Too bad. He was great back in the day, but nowadays he's kind of sad and a bit of an embarrassment.

He's kind of like that old family member that you used to look up to, but now he's lost touch with the world and slowly losing his marbles. While you still feel fondness for him, you try to keep him from interacting too much with anyone outside the family or close friends in case he says something insulting or embarrassing .

Kinda funny about Lupul.

Of course he failed the physical! Nobody goes against Uncle Lou! "Don't worry Joffrey, we have a real nice island lined up for your vacation. It's rather fortunate it just opened up recently..."
