I hope they change their mind after the success and interest the young squad got.
- Symba007

Probably would have to let team NA choose their roster first and pull from all countries to make it fair.

That way, the best of the young players are available, so no team has an advantage for quality of players... well except Canada, but that's not our fault.

I think Marner will be a good NHLer. Might take longer than expected due to the ahl rule where I think he'd benefit big time learning the pro game at a lower level. May never be the next coming of patty kane I think we all hoped for.

Over under on how many games it takes for matthews to be playing with jvr on the top line?

He's too stubborn to kick the can. I think he is just over 80 you are right.

Don't agree about Marner "stumbling".

He wasn't dominant. If you expected him to rack up the points with totally new linemates in a couple games, I guess he failed.

Did it occur that management already know about his offensive game and pushed him to show he could play solid defensive hockey too? When Kadri first tried to enter the league, everyone knew he had offensive upside, but everyone criticized his defensive lapses. Kadri was sent down not because he couldn't generate offense, but because he was a defensive liability - Marner clearly is not.

He did however show a solid two way game and at times made some excellent plays that showed off his offensive side. A couple of times he made plays that could have resulted in goals if his teammates had been as skilled as he is.

I expect as he goes through training camp and the preseason he will find his groove. Likely by the time the regular season starts he'll be showing us all how much he belongs on the big club.

Matthews looked awesome on that goal in against Sweden. Honestly, everyone involved in the play looked great. Good shot by Rielly, great rush by McDavid to skate through the entire Swedish team, and some great effort by Matthews not only stickhandling from his knees and getting the pass off to Rielly, but going to the net and scoring that rebound.

Team NA is so exciting to watch and I love seeing Matthews and Rielly being two of the standout players on that squad.
