I may have misinterpreted what you said then, but I don't think that him reaching UFA status at 26 vs 27 will have much of an effect on what his cap hit is - YuenglingJagr
Yeah, if he's good as we hope he is, he'll be signing an Pietrangelo-style extension coming out of his ELC.
Pietrangelo is a pretty interesting comparison since he is also a January birthday, and in his second post draft season he played 9 NHL before being sent down to finish out the season in Junior. Which didn't seem to cause him any problems going forward....

Yeah, but just think how much better he could have been had they not ruined him like that. |

The issue is that if he doesn't make the team this year, when he gets his next deal will be a year later, and could benefit the Flyers in the timing of the development of the team. Ultimately his level of play will be the biggest factor. |

It never dawned on me that Bill was listing the lines as #1 through #4 on a depth chart.
And where is Hagg? - MBFlyerfan
Not a depth chart so much as the order the combos were noted. None among Hägg, Leier or Stolarz are part of rookie camp (they are in Voorhees, though, and getting ready for the main camp) because only players with one or zero years of North American pro experience are taking part in rookie camp.

I know Hexy is against it, but I really don't see the issue with keeping a superior prospect like Provorov up for a month or so and then sending him back to Junior if it turns out he's not quite ready to be an everyday player. So long as he is playing regularly and getting meaningful minutes the way Pietrangelo did in 09-10.

Obviously I'm just looking at box scores, but it seems like he crushed it in the OHL and the WJC after being sent down. |

well I disagree. No one is trading for streit today, even with a an injury imo. Not until he shows he is healthy and productive. Teams will not use their cap space this early on a player like Streit.
So realistically there is no team as it stands now that would want him. - rinaldo
I agree. Until Streit can prove he has gotten over his injury nobodies taking him. That being said, how is he supposed to do that if he isn't given PP time? Ghost has taken his role on the first PP, so unless they go with Del-Zotto and Streit on the second unit (they should) he isn't going to put up numbers like he used to. |

Surprised with Fazleev being down at the 4th line. Sure he's got some actual defensive ability but offensively he also put up better offensive numbers than a couple of the centers ahead of him in lines and wasn't an over ager. - Yosimar89
It's not a depth chart for the game. Just a list of combos.
However, the Flyers foresee Fazleev as a bottom six, PKing, role-playing type as a pro. They do not think of him as a scoring line prospect.

I thought that was what "prospect camp" was used for, although that's more developmental than anything. |

Waiting for the days when the D hopefully looks something like this:
Ghost-Morin
Sanheim-Provorov
DelZotto-Gudas
Extras: Hagg/Myers - aantny88
That is exciting to look at but I have to think one of those prospects gets moved, at some point, for offensive help. |

Thanks for the info on Hagg.
As to the line lists, that was my snarky way of saying I didn't think it was a depth chart of any kind. |

Revoke his season ticwtter accounts. |

Well then yes, in your mind, it is impossible for Streit to be traded right now. - jmatchett383
pretty much as no one is likely taking on his contract at this point and time. I am sure you disagree though. |

Which one gets moved for offensive help? Doubt it will be Ghost, Provorov or Sanheim. More than likely Morin or Hagg. |

He didn't agree with not being picked for the team and sent a shot across the bow of Team USA's management. Not sure how that isn't being a "man" about the situation. I thought it was pretty funny to be honest. |

I actually think Sanheim is the likeliest. Sanheim was our top D prospect until Provorov came along and is basically the super Sanheim. Morin still offers the nastiness/physicality that none of the other ones can offer. Sanheim's skill set, while a very good one, becomes a bit redundant when you have Provorov, and he could probably fetch a better return than Morin. |

The dude's permanently* earned the right to be salty in my book. No matter what the guy does, he's consistently snubbed, underrated, and mocked.

I think Hagg kind of fizzles out and they keep the rest.
Look at how long Anaheim have kept all their good young dmen, and even added to it with Despres. It's only the expansion draft that has them looking at moving one of them.
Vatanen - 106th overall in 2009
Fowler - 12th overall in 2010
Manson - 160th overall in 2011
Lindholm - 6th overall in 2012
Theodore - 26th overall in 2013
Montour - 55th overall in 2014
All six guys still with the organization. |
