I honestly don't mind the idea of it but I think they didn't anticipate Johnny developing so quickly which is why they leaned on it ...time to give it up

He has raised the bar even higher with this tournament. It absolutely makes a difference, he has been arguably theirbest player on a team filled with #1 picks, against the worlds best no less. The longer they go, the more his agent has to bargain with. Im sure BT is a Russia fan right now. Including the exhibition games, I do not think it is a stretch that he has earned at least a half mil per just by waiting. He will sign, but I would be shocked if it is below 8 a yr now, and possibly higher than that.
