How come Kyle Okoposo doesnt get any love. He is better offensively then ryan and bonio and he is force defensively with his size and speed. He should of made team USA

Team USA's downfall was that they had too many poisonous Skittles on the roster.

I wanted the USA to win, but after they hired Tortarella, the writing was on the wall for them to fail as they did. That was very much bad karma from the beginning. VERY disappointing. Their lines never had enough chemistry, either.

People are over analysing all of this, it's only a 5 game tournament.

If their best players would have showed up and performed at their best, there's no way they lose to Team Europe by such a big goal differential.

Some blame can be put on management for coach/players selection but in the end, 80% of current USA roster would still have made the final cut and they didn't show up.

He HAS been mentioned. I think he probably should have made the team, but he wouldn't really make much of a difference, to be honest. Good player, but with the caliber of players in this tournament, he'd be a depth player, not a difference maker.

At the NHL level, he's a great winger for your top 6 though.

I dont think he would be a difference maker but I believe he would certainly made the team better and helped with the scoring problem and still be able to play key defensive minutes. The main point i was making was that he should be mentioned over Bobby Ryan and Nick Bonino.

I would agree with this if Justin Abdelkader wasn't on the team

Kyle Okposo is 110% the polar opposite of "a force defensively".

He should have made the team over a hack like Abdelkader, that's undeniable. But he is far from any sort of defensive force.

I agree, he should be mentioned over those guys.

Just saying, we're still having this conversation if he was there, the names are just different.

There's nothing wrong with Team USA. Larkin, Eichel, Matthews, Gostisbehere are all American. Team USA probably won't ever be as good as team Canada. Hockey is a religion in Canada, and at best the 4th most important sport in the states. They lost to a team they outshot 35-17, it's hockey it happens sometimes. Canada will always be the best. The second tier is the US with Finland, Sweden, Russia, and the Czechs. Are any of them as good as Canada, no. Can any one of those teams conceivably beat Canada is a single elimination format, sure.

"...Whenever a team collapses you can always point to a myriad of reasons.
-Eklund..."

In reality, it didn't collapse.......

And now after this brief moment of self-flagellation, I imagine all good American hockey fans will quickly refocus on debating which American team will win their 24th Stanley Cup in a row while Canadian fans content themselves with wondering whether their team will manage to snag a wildcard spot.

But at the end of the day... thank you Gary, for letting Canadians have a cup of our own again.
