Love how Ciccone, Langevin, Leclerc are subtly telling Jean-Charles Lajoie that he's clueless. - Pecafan Fan

Yeah he was fired.
But now Martin Leclerc says he had the same story.
One guy was saying that this story was bullpoop and it was Lajoie (the guy who should have been fired for being a (frank)ing idiot). |

Rejean Tremblay a couple of days confirmed it was true as well from multiple sources. |

Heresay can't be confirmed. He was fired for refusing to give his editors his source. |

And he was right to keep it for himself.
That station is negotiating for the rights to the AHL team radio broadcast. Villeneuve was fired because the Habs were not happy with what he said. |

Not from his editor. His editor is subject to the same confidentiality. Journalists always will tell their sources internally. Otherwise they can make up whatever stories they want. |

That's not what protecting a source means. Journalists won't reveal their sources to the public or outside parties. No journalist will keep their job if they don't give their editor their source. |

The sources were people invited at MT's golf tournament. The habs wanted to know who, no way the editor of that mickey mouse radio station would not have given them up. Good on Villeneuve for not giving them up. |

Typical Habs ego-driven-management.
Instead of doing the right thing (strip Patchouli à la Marleau), work their ways to the media to know who told who, like mafia bosses.
Hate Villeneuve but I'm glad this happened. |

Martin Leclerc has the same infos. There's too much smoke in here not to have a fire.
Then again, I don't really care. Everyone agree that he sucks as a captain. They made all kind of moves this summer (Shaw, Weber) to get more leadership on the team. |

Voilà. Of course it doesn't affect my quality of sleep. But leadership and captaincy is still part of the game. A good or bad captain still can affect a whole NHL team at times.
SJ stripped Marleau. Than stripped Thornton. Than reached the Finals when everybody said their window was closing. It's a bold move that, IMO, would benefit Pacioretty AND the Habs. |

Villeneuve told his bosses that he had some more stuff to get out, and that he would when he came back from his vacation on October 7th. His bosses asked him what it was, and he wouldn't tell so they fired him.
Maybe the Habs told them they would sue for defamation. I don't think a small radio station wants to go to court against an organization like that.
The problem with the story, it's that it's based on hearsay, with no context. I don't think it's very good journalism. |
