Hopefully it teaches him to play with his head up. As long as he's not hurt I'm happy. Was a good hit.
- Zschalberg

Was clean, but Emelin has the habit of head hunting the star players. I'm not a big fan of "preying".

His head was up. Side stepped one and the other was right there.
- cabin

The last time I saw it it appeared he side stepped, put his head down to keep track of the puck, emelin hit him. I'm at work so I can't watch it now, but that's what I remember on it

I'm not saying it's on Jack, I'm just saying it could make him extra cautious.

Isn't emelin the one who pasted reinhart into the boards from behind? Hed be one of those exceptions where I wouldn't mind Bogo or Risto taking a dumb penalty if it meant returning the favour.

I like the big hits, especially at critical moments in the game. It was clean, well timed, and hard. Best part is Jack got back up, got back in the play, and the play went on. Good hockey.

Hmm...It sounds familiar.

Some penalties are necessary to take IMO. This example is one of those that I wouldn't hate. Though in some ways, you'd rather it not be Risto or Bogo. Kinda would rather Deslauriers or a forward take the penalty. It sucks if you end up short a Dman for 5 mins (if they get a fighting major).

I picked those two because for whatever reason (and i really cant think of a good one) it just feels like it means more if someone who isn't a 4th line grinder dishes the hit or fight.

Feel like Kane is your man. Then when they try to fight him he'll beat their ass. Thrice.

Makes sense. Just tough to lose one of your top 4 due to a penalty because the other team was playing dirty and some sort of retaliation was needed. I guess it's one of those lose/lose situations. You don't want your team to allow things like that so it has to be done in some way.

I meant as in Im surprised that wasn't my first choice. Probably makes the most sense. For whatever reason i blanked out on kane's toughness

Speaking of toughness. Carrier looked like he wanted to fight everyone on the Bruins last night. Not sure if that's a normal playing trait for him or what. Never noticed him do anything like that in the Rochester games I've seen.

Ugh I remember when Granlund was the 2nd coming with those moves. Shame it hasn't worked out (sorta).

Yeah plastered Sam from behind and also gave Ennis a good smack from behind into the boards a couple years back if I'm remembering correctly.

Carrier was like that during the 3 on 3 tourney this summer too. He was using his body big time. Might have been a point of emphasis this summer. I like to see it. I don't want enough injuries that all of these kids come up because that'd mean we're in a pretty bad spot but when injuries do occur I'd love to see them in action at the NHL level and see what they can do.

I'm not suggesting Emelin deserves a suspension, I agree was a clean hit. I just find it cowardly that most of the "big hits" I see out of him are on defenseless players...particularly those who aren't of legal age to drink yet.

Edit: Kulikov is a bit of a dirty player too, maybe I should shut up.

Personal opinion...he's trying to take D-Lo's job. Gotta prove you can throw mitts to do that I suppose.
