Seemed to me like they were trying to win it in the 3rd. Also if I had to choose whether to pull my goalie in a tied game with the Swedes, or hope that a usually tenacious team Finland would knock off a Russian squad with a recent history of choking, I'd risk it with the Fins.
Sadly it just didn't pan out. I'm glad to have McDavid headed to camp healthy at any rate.

Yeah, sure would have been fun to watch though.

And I just think the players should have been told the situation going into the 3rd. Win in regulation and were in, win in OT and there are no guarantees. Maybe they would have stepped it up a bit, no?
