I know most of you aren't into this World Cup tourney but it is really good, high intensity hockey being played. Thumbs up for me.
- thundachunk

I've been paying attention. Problem is right now the Jays are playing and their is a football game on. Bouncing between the three.

He's a special player for sure. Him, MacKinnon, RNH, Reilly & Gaudreau really stood out tonight.

Valks already under contract to Utica and im sure hell be able to get a spot on that roster, other then that wouldnt be suprisedf at Roy getting a contract.
- phyllee

Valk will be hard pressed to make Utica full time but I could see him earning a call up. He wasn't great last season and honestly wasn't nearly good enough this considering his age and experience.

I could see Roy or D'oaust possibly getting a contract but I wouldn't hold my breath. Carcone was the best fwd for the nucks in this tournament imo....really says something about our prospects

Thats true about Carcone, looks like he could be a solid pickup, i also really like Cassels game, hopefully plays in Utica like we all expect. I agree on Valk, him and Zalewski will be competing for the first center call ups and id think it will be a close one

Couldnt go this year. Super choked. Atmosphere looks great as always when the Jays are in town.

My dads got first row third baseline in TO Against the Yanks this weekend. Lucky bastard.

And some youth already on the roster. However, I wouldn't say that we're deep.....just deeper than we were 3 years ago.

Yeah .

I see it as one prospect a year will make a jump to the NHL. Canucks already have a lot of youth.

We also have Lockwood with potential Gaudette and and one or two others.

I think in the next three years Stecher Boeser Juolevi and Demko have a good chance of making Canucks. That is a lot of youth injection if they hit their potential.

Under old management Canucks had a top team with very little youth.

You are correct though we are not deep deep in prospects but we are better.

While I agree our "A" list prospects are only a few, which most other teams in the NHL have more of, Benning has only been on the job for two years. It takes time to build a pool of kids when you only inherit one.

Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg have been drafting for several years in good draft position AND Mike Gillis wasn't drafting for them.

In a few years making the team shouldn't be difficult. It's about drafting impact players....especially outside of top 10 picks. It looks like we might have a couple however i'm not excited by the future yet except that it will get us out of the present.
