imo Franson gets moved at the trade deadline with gorges sticking...and 3.9 is not an albatross contract by any stretch of the imagination
- Michael Pachla

Yes it is, for a 7th D man

Guhle-Nelson>Gorges-Franson...as of today

They may struggle for the first 20 games or so but I bet by the mid way point they adjust and look far better if for no other reason than they can actually skate. Plus you save like 7 mil there.

- Sabresfan-365

Both will be gone. Franson is at least good at something meaningful. Having a career .40 PPG d man on the bottom pair is useful.

Also, when you mentioned how Bogo took himself out of position to make hits, I actually think that's what Gorges does more than anyone here recently not named Weber

Ideally they would get rid of Franson and put Guhle on the 3rd with Gorges...let the old fart mentor him and cover his backside while he roamed a bit to build his offensive game a bit

Guhle is not really an offensive defensemen. He's more of just a good zone exit guy. He doesn't have a great shot, or great pass in the offensive zone

The problem, at least for this year is we are stuck with Gorges and Franson.

Camp should make decisions easier. I think Guhle and Nelson will both need a year to get stronger, let them cut their teeth in the A and call them up once Bogo/Franson get injured.

They left a few "non Team North America" players they left off, Kessel being the biggest one. The US has very few finishers outside of Kane and Pavelski.

Does anyone really care if the US wins it? I would actually be rooting for team NA

Not that I agree with the way the US team was constructed, but they can't win with some people.

They beat Canada, but they suck and we're lucky because they were heavily out shot.

They lose to Europe, but they still suck even though they doubled Europe in shots.

Sometimes 'smart' people sound so dumb

Unless there is something else going on that nobody knows about, why is Byfuglien not playing defense?

Torts hard line stance on players has grown beyond tiring.

4 out of the first 5 games are on the road, 2 on the west coast as well.

The way franson has played for us , I really thought he was younger . Like 25ish.

I thought I would take a gamble and say he is a late bloomer. Until I looked up his age . 29. that bloom is gone . Lets hope he ends up helping his partner through this season.

Outstanding for him.

I was out tonight so didn't hear much about the game. I wonder how Nylander played?
