they made him put on weight and he wasn't as shifty/quick
he took off the weight and was back to snazzy nazzy |

They also made Colborne gorge himself to gain weight and he ended up getting cut so they could ice both McLaren and Orr |

it wouldn't bode well with his style of play.
hes fast, quick hands and not easy to plaster with a hit.
adding fat (weight) does nothing but slow you down - they made kadri do that one season and it didn't help him at all. - Lucas.Neilson
Yup Marner is a great talent and seems like he has good attitude. He's willing to play hard in all 3 zones which is awesome, hopefully he can put it all together and turn into a good player for the Leafs and if he does I think it will be at the size he is plus a few pounds. Honestly if he was a 60 point guy in his career, would people be upset? Probably. |

Actually his older brother had a growth spurt in his early 20's. So marner could as well.
Or so I read. - Fakepartofme
There ya go so you ever know I guess. Anyone recall any player that was small that had this happen? |

Yeah, I don't necessarily mean for the experienced guys who have put their bodies through the grind, but there's so many under 25 year olds playing in the tourney who will be expected to make the next jump in their careers who I can see suffer a bit.
I'll go on record saying Matthews starts the reg season flying and finding the back of the net, but come 40 games he starts to slow right down. - DamnBrasKiss
It will come down to his assignments and the performance of the other lines. If the top line is clicking he will get some easier assignments and he SHOULD be able to take advantage of that but as you said, for how long. Im not really sure what to expect tbh. |

Still on the island in terms of not playing and carrying a cap hit |

How come some of last years overaged draft picks aren't in the rookie tournie:
Korchkov RW
Greenway D
Bobylev RW
Chebykin RW
(That's the guy I wanted to see more than the others since I have no clue who the others are.)
And Trevor Moore is my dark horse too....kid looked really good at the scrimmages.
....Happy BDay Lucas.....and (frank) you for being 35....middle 30s are the BEST!!! |

Mark Hunter is at it again bringing in real good quality players with upside and character.Just look at the forward group, there are names of interest like:
1. Tye Felhaber 5'11" 196lb 18 year old LW has speed and skill. He's good around the net and always seems to find the right spot. Has been a real neat player to watch on the Saginaw Spirit
2. Cason Hohmann this 23 year old RW played with Rochester last year and was nearly a point per game player. he does have some limited upside given his age but I think this kid would be a good pick up for the Marlies.
3. Mason Parchment this 21 year old LW plays with a similar bite to his game as his Dad Bryan. Limited upside but a good role player for the Marlies potentially.
4. Chase Witala 21 year old 6' tall lanky LW/C I love this kids upside a few more pounds and this point a game player for Prince George Cougars could be a real find. Think JVR with this kid.
5. Tyler Wong 20 year old RW we saw a bit of Tyler with the Marlies last year he's on the small side at 5'9" and only 172lbs but has a ton of skill, quick on his feet and slippery. Another point per game player in the WHL I like him but, he definitely needs AHL seasoning. |

Are you serious?? Mason Parchment's stock is through the roof. I could see him getting a letter assuming he avoids legal trouble. |

I'd assume some of the Russian kids are in Russia right now? Is greenway going to NCAA and not allowed to play? I don't know I'm just taking some guesses
Korchkov and Bobylev both are playing in the KHL right now. Not sure about the others I just looked half ass |

Should give Tkachyov a try-out like the Oilers and then not sign him because you run out of contract space and then he has a mediocre year and goes undrafted. |
