Can't even get the play off before the 2 minute warning
- SABRES 89

Pay me $30,000 and I'll stand on the sideline with a BB gun and when I see them taking a long time getting to the line I'll just start shooting guys. That ought to get them moving. The clock management on this team is atrocious from both the players and the coaches. And Tyrod has to learn to set his feet on those short throws. The Bills were getting pressure early, the Jets adjusted and then the Bills couldn't get there. That's on the coaches. Leave a goddamn safety in the middle of the field! The only bright spot is that Tyrod, when not concussed, hasn't forgotten how to throw deep.

yup...gonna be a long year that will probably end with a house-cleaning...avoid the rush, do it now

I would put Watkins on IR. Robert Woods might never want to suit up for this team again. They don't even throw it his way

they only targeted Watkins a few times...after so much promise last season, taylor has taken a step back...and neither he nor the bills could afford to have that happen

It hasn't even been a major step back IMO. This pretty much was the offense last season. LeSean McCoy is probably calling Chip Kelly to ask if he can come to SF.

What a disaster. I hate everything about it.

Watkins should just shut it down, he can't run. Was he even on the field in the 4th quarter?

You're right, this is the same offense as last season. Week 1 they poop the bed. I think it was just rust because they didn't play more than what, 15 plays in the preseason? This week was leaps and bounds better even with Watkins basically a decoy. McCoy had 1 less touch than last week. 1 more yard rushing and 19 more yards receiving. As it stands now he's on a 936 yard pace for the season rushing and 1280 yards from scrimmage, that's pretty solid, so I'm not ready to write him off just yet. I still can't believe they cut Karlos. I know he'd be suspended now, but having to bring EJ in for short yardage is outrageous. So what if he(Karlos) was fat? He'd only have to run for 2 yards. Jerome Bettis was one fat mofo late in his career and he still managed to be great in short yardage.

Watkins is a china doll. Very breakable.

The Ryan brothers are a joke. They have to go

It's a continuation of his injury, it doesn't heal particularly well when you don't give it time to rest. Julio Jones and Dez Bryant both had the same thing and both needed a second surgery. Well at least according to the internets and Sal Capaccio they did.

I predicted a 7-9 season for the Bills, but that was contingent on winning 2 of the first 4 games. This team is in serious trouble.

As far as firing Rex, there are serious consequences to this move given the "all in" to the 46 Defense. Schwartz had success running the Wide 9. The point is, these defenses demand d if fervent schemes and talent in certain positions. To now move away from the 46 sets us back again...which is one reason I was against the Rex hire to begin with...wasted years and draft picks. They are in a pickle for sure.

Lastly, the famed 46 D counts on the Corners playing straight up man to man...they are naked without much Safety help as the Safeties tend to play up much, much closer to the line..almost as a Linebacker. We saw first hand on how to beat the 46 ... Flood the field with recievers, get the ball out quick, place the ball where the receiver has significant advantage (behind the shoulder)..of course that requires an accurate QB which Fitz certainly was last night. I was shocked at his long sideline throws were on the money as well..normally that isn't his strength. Great game by Fitz.

Really solid post showing real knowledge of the subject matter.

Fitzpatrick couldn't throw a long sideline ball to save his life when he was here. I was amazed to see all those completions last night. Your post explains exactly how important it was, better that Simms and Nantz.

Thanks Schultzie.
I always like Fitz, but you are correct with his long ball being so inaccurate..it is what killed him...normally coaches played tight on receivers at the line to take the short pass away and force him long, typically to the sideline...he was dominant with those throws last night...good for him, he's one of the good guys in the league.

It is sad that after 2 games we are now thinking of Free Agency and the Draft. Oh to be a Bills fan

so you are blah against the run, and right before the home opener you don't put spikes on the active roster and release albright

The run D wasn't an issue last night. The secondary got victimized play after play. Darby had a few good plays, but Gilmore was downright awful last night.
