I wonder what could have become of Luke Schenn.

He seemed like he just dominated based on his physical abilities, and when he came to the NHL, he wasn't at the top of the food chain. An extra year or two to work on things may have been a huge help to him.

His decision making under pressure, my biggest knock on him, was rough. When he was in open ice, he was fine. When he had to dig a puck out of his own corner, the only thing up for debate was exactly how the turnover would occur.

I actually think he came to the NHL with a great degree of hockey sense. His first season he played a great simple game. But odds are had he stayed in junior and got more of an offensive role, he likely could've rounded out his game a little more. Also, he looked just fine in LA with a system that actually suits his style.

And as for the slowness, when you get burned enough at the NHL level, because you were rushed, you start to really overthink things rather than just playing. I think this was actually Jake Gardiner's problem two years ago, until Babcock showed up. Not saying Jake is great, just saying last year's jake was much better than Carlyle Gardiner.

Also didn't realize that Tyler Myers and Schenn were on the same team. As was Tyson Barrie....you know what Fake? Maybe Schenn wasn't very good after all.
