The rankings are only based upon points ?

Hard to do I understand.

hey bix,

I explain in the blog the rankings are based on:

goals
assists
points
+-
power play points
short handed points
penalty minutes
game winning goals

strictly fantasy rankings.

98 points in 141 NHL games for Klingberg, coming off a 58 point season. Top pairing D, and only D man to play on the point on the powerplay with Seguin, Benn, Spezza and Sharp.

Pietrangelo is the captain and healthy to start the season with Jay Bou. he's on the secnd powerplay, but STL has a powerhouse team so their second PP is somewhat comparable to other teams first PP. (Fabbri - Stastny -Perron - Pietrangelo - Parayko). I assume he put up around 40-45 points and Rielly around 37-42 points. That's how tight the rankings are.

any other questions keep em coming and I'll explain why I rank players where they are.

very doubtful.

Babcock is all about two way champions and likes a RH and LH on each of their respected points.

that's why both Letang and PK didn't make the team.

You should do the same article to end the year, and that will show the big movers for the season.

Just a suggestion.

not a bad idea, usually by the time regular season is done I need a break from fantasy

being in a 45 man keeper, rotisserie pool, head to head pool and HBSL pool im usually cooked by the end!!

last year I didn't even join any playoff pools, mind you, I was +700 $

SHP and GWG have to be two of the worst stats in fantasy hockey. Shutouts for goalies is a close 3rd. You can't exactly draft with those in mind since they're really really random.

I'd take Holtby EASILY since this is fantasy hockey and not real life. Way better team.

After my Draft, this was my D:

G, A, +/-, PIMS, PPP, SHP, GWG, FW, SOG, HIT, BLK

Burns
Carlson
Vlasic
Hamilton

I have a spot for a 5th D and I will likely Take Gudas for the PIMS, HITS and BLKS

Hey Lucas, wondering how you dont' have Hedman a little higher as he is in my top-5 for the categories you've put up. Thinking he will get injured for a third straight year?

Severson may be the top guy on a NJ power play that now has Taylor Hall.

Actually, I look deep each year and try to pluck a player or two who gets PK/PP time as well as decent 5 on 5 ice time.

Guys like Toews have a large amount of fantasy value for this exact reason.

shutouts - yes, I agree, but we like to have 8 offensive categories and 4 goalie categories. With save % and GAA already in the mix, we didn't like the "shots" option and went with shutouts.

Holtby had his breakout season last year, COULD be tricky to repeat.

Remember the season before he was battling for the job with 2 other goalies.

Very solid D. Gudas is hurt right now?

Always a nice option of having an extra F or G until the season gets underway - perhaps a player breakout in the early going and you can scoop him, or someone else drops a D they shouldn't have.

Partially yes, but also - he's still in the mix of the best of the best. It's a tight race after 1-2 between the next 20 skaters.

Yes, I have Severson just outside the top 50.

I did manage to scoop him up in keeper last year when someone dropped him, and I held on hoping his game would improve. The trade helped me tons!

good addition BB!
