This is my favourite at the moment - From Billings, Montana. Hands down the best gin that I've ever had and recent winner of gold medal at the US craft spirits association awards

Like I said earlier. Surveys aren't exactly a good measuring stick considering their sample sizes and areas conducted. For example, the City News one measures .04% of the population.

Nice. Selection of gins in Ontario is pretty weak so I try to get my hands on new stuff when I can.

Most hated canadian team != least popular canadian team. In fact, usually most popular and most hated are one in the same (ie. New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys)

Also, there's one poll in there that even mentions that self described hockey fans were differentiated from 'casual' hockey fans (ie. bandwagon fans near playoff time when these polls are conducted) and that poll cited Leafs as the most popular among self described hockey fans.

My guess is you done don't read studies so good

But keep preaching it like it's the gospel, I'm sure you're bound to reach at least one person and it'll all be worth it.

I'll go ahead and disagree slightly and say that surveys are just a poor measuring stick because of phrasing and the use of ordinal variables, and are just not very scientific.

A sample of 1000 is usually enough to get a pretty darned good view of what's going on in the population.

But here the samples suffer from each average joe, his grandma and his dog getting surveyed instead of actual hockey fans.

hey, i'm just putting it out there for you all to read or do what you will with it, but when there are multiple surveys/ polls with varying margins of error that all point to one team as being the most popular in the country then I'll be confident to say that they're probably correct about that if not the exact number or percentage of the population that supports that team.

I made a comment, someone disagreed implying i was being inaccurate, so i put up the links for you to examine. I didn't just pull something out of thin air.

the angus reid survey seems pretty accurate imo with polling from around the country...

doubting what i wrote based on one of the multiple surveys seems pretty disingenuous as well...

But they don't poll fans exclusively.

They poll everyone, and this conversation started out about fans.

Anyhow I'm out of here.

Last note is I would say that in the grand scheme of things, the definition of what constitutes a fan is very important when talking about fanbases, and being a survey respondent near playoff time when a bunch of teams have been knocked out of the playoffs doesn't make someone a fan.

Gin discussion and camels, that actually was my guess when I clicked.

Oh yeah, and from earlier in the thread, Sundin wasn't the GM. Sundin is amazing.
