The point being that down the road with two players on one team tying up at the minimum 18million, or about 25% of the cap, that creates a lot of difficulty trying to fill out your roster with a competitive team.

Not saying it couldn't work, simply that it creates a problem down the road, especially when you consider as you said, there offense and what some of them will be getting paid. Larsson's contract is far more manageable than Subban's.

You can think that all you want, but the facts are that clearly Bergevin did not want that deal, plus giving up Subban in a trade creates a hole in their D that is not filled getting Hall and Yak. Plus with Yak your team needs good D because of how poor he is in the ice in that role.

I'm pretty sure I stated that the reason I said Hall for Subban was mainly because that is what we would think it would get us if Hall was on the table. In fact:

Montreal didn't want Hall from what I've read. It was reported that they wanted Draisaitl, Nurse and the 2016 4th. And if that was the case then Bergevin can go (frank) himself.

Wild already stated that the "official deal" was LD + Nurse +4th, but something happened. Honestly, that deal would have worked quite well for both team, however I think that the 4th would have been an overpayment and it should have been replaced with Yak
