I think Murray played very well during the Cup run, but with that logic you may as well say Michael Hanzus can't reach another level as a 2C because he's a Stanley Cup winning 2C. Hanzus is a very subpar 2C. Individual level of play has nothing to do with team success.

I meant on a career level not level of play level. I honestly think every goalie (besides Queen Henrietta) the Pens faced in the playoffs played better than Murray. Murray can most definitely get better and I think he will. He had some obvious weaknesses exposed during the run but he's still pretty young, lots of time to correct them.

Yeah I'm not worried about Murr as of now. Yes he has issues with his gloveside reflexes and yes he'll never be elite at that part of his game, but his positioning is flawless and his mental fortitude is outstanding for such a young guy. He'll get better and protecting those above the shoulder shots as time goes on. Those gaffes and wrap arounds and Williams' "snipe" are to me rookie mistakes. If we don't see any progress whatsoever next year then there might be a problem, but he's had too few games at the NHL level to assume he's hit his ceiling.

You posted this on the team NA thread got no responses and posted it here. Pretty much everyone but Grinder thinks Murray is the future and MAF should be traded before the deadline. Don't know why you're so obsessed with Flower beyond that.
