Blues were 1 game away from the stanley cup finals this year, and Backes was 2nd on the team in playoff points. How do you justify calling him a loser?
- TylerSeguin19

This is what happens when you do not win. Common sense really.

And I think that you're severely underrating just how big of a jump it is between the AHL and the NHL.
- lumlums

Nah, it's nothing. Nylander was on a 97 point pace in the AHL last year. Pretty sure he can hit 70+ in the NHL in his first full season since that's how this works apparently.

Blues team is pretty good. Boston isn't. 1 player doesn't change the face of the whole franchise. ('cept maybe Price) lol.

What about Matthews playing in a mens league and finishing second in scoring. He should finish top 10 in the NHL this year.

Nobody wants to invest more than a 2 year term into any Staal cause they're all trash and overrated by fans. Backes is a special type player with the elements he brings to a team
- TylerSeguin19

So special that Patrick (frank)ing Kane gets an A on the US team instead of him.

He will. I know Leaf fans are only blind to see what type of talent their young players have, but other teams in the NHL have talent too. I guarantee you've never seen Vatrano play in your life. If you did you'd be able to see what I'm talking about

Agreed.

The only reason that scoring is down over the last few years in the NHL is that Frankie Vatrano hadn't played there until last season

What makes me a leafs fan? I where my leafs hat damn near every day. Mats Sundin 500th goal in OT is a moment I will never forget. Tie Domi and Darcy Tucker were also favorites of mine. The fact that Tie Domi was 5 foot nothing and would fight anybody was more than inspiring. Darcy tucker was the ultimate pest, and he would get those lovely tap in goals from Wellwood on the PP. Hockey night in Canada every Saturday is a tradition I have carried since I was 4 years old. I proudly say my mom knows only one hockey player and its Mats Sundin! I gotta say the leafs of today have got me so excited I feel like a kid again! I think Nylander is my favorite of the new kids, something feels right about him. I know hes not Mats, but there is something about the Swedes!
P.S.- It's not a Phaneuf jersey!!!!!!!

I'd be giving him less poop if he said he "could" score 30. Sure, maybe. Probably not but maybe.

They're playing well.

The Jays on the other hand....ugh....bases loaded.....and they are all stranded.
