NHL.com just sent out an email that has them on their site, so they are probably on Fanatics and FansEdge, also.
I quickly looked and it seemed that Giroux was the only player specific jersey so far. You can order customized. Indicated that they would be shipped to arrive before the opener. Despite the graphics shown, the description indicated embroidered and twill logos and numbers on the Giroux adult and custom jerseys.

If you order the "replica" jerseys from NHL.com, they are usually the silk-screened ones. If you get the "authentic", they usually have the full emboridery and twill. I'm sure that the authentic ones were the first to be offered. I have, in the past, bought a replica and taken it to a 3rd party for the stitching, but I guess the 50th is a special case.

Thanks! It's funny, I just checked this am, and they weren't on there. Yeah, if it says replica and comes with the crappy lettering, i'll be sending it back.

Worse describes something that is of lower quality than something else. It is used to compare two things with each other.

Worst describes something that is of the lowest quality of a group of three of more things.

- Feanor

I'm not entirely sure what you're telling me but yes, the World Cup is lesser to the Winter Olympics but more than a training camp. With this said, the timing of the World Cup in September is better than the Winter Olympics because the NHL season isn't going on right now. In fact this should be the ultimate training camp for players playing in key roles. Again, the World Cup shouldn't interfere with any player playing in the NHL come April. The World Cup shouldn't interfere with any hot streaks a team or player might be having. Players like Giroux and Voracek (assuming they don't get hurt) should enter the regular season at the tops of their games, even more so than what a training camp could provide.

Best I can say about the Devils is that I hate them way less than the Pens or Satan's imps aka the NY Rangers.
- BiggE

Oh, frank that. The Devils and Rangers are tied for first place on my I Hate That NHL Team list.

The Penguins elicit zero emotion from me.

Edit: I will watch the "World" Cup because I'm a hockey junkie, but aside from the Flyers participating, I don't think I'll get too into it.

- jmatchett383

I won't. As much as I love watching hockey, I just can't muster up enough excitement/interest to watch a tournament to which I am fundamentally opposed.

Maybe if the television ratings suck enough they won't have another one of these tournaments.

I am, too. One of the Flyers might get hurt in a WC game, but injuries can happen at any time, even in training or on the golf course.

Re: golf course injury

That would be an accident, same as dropping a can of soup and breaking a toe

On the other hand, playing in a tournament is willfully exposing yourself to risk of being unable to perform the job for which you are being paid millions of dollars.

So you think these guys are playing in this against their will? The league is forcing them to do it as a cash grab and everyone is okay with it including the players own union?

I don't think anyone has said these guys are playing against their will. The same way they're not playing against their wills in the Olympics, or WJC, or WC. They've been asked to play as part of a "best vs best" tournament and are willing to be a part of it. That said, it's still nothing more than a cash grab cooked up by the NHL. The old Canada Cup, the 1996 World Cup, and the 2003 World Cup seemed more legit, as they were IIHF-run (and actually featured all real countries) as opposed to NHL-run.

I hold equal hate for the three. The Devils hate comes purely from their successful Cup winning system from the 90's while entering the league late, so their championships hurt more.

The Peguins on the other hand has Crosby and his early years on oce crying, which has developed into more Cups for the Pens.

Rangers no reason needed.

Somewhat easy Flyers' trivia:

Following a playoff OT goal by Eric Lindros in the 1995 Eastern Conference Final, the Flyers had a streak of 8 consecutive playoff OT games that they lost. Who finally ended that streak for the Flyers?

I'm going to guess primeau 2000 second round 5 ot game 4 vs Pitt. Weird they didn't win any ot games in the 97 run though.

Couldn't be. Delmore won Game 3 in overtime.

What year was Fedotenko's OT goal in Game 1 versus the Sens?

It was a question. I really don't understand the point of getting all worked up over it being a farce just to make people money. What isn't these days?

There are plenty of other benefits like getting to watch hockey, more people talking about hockey, hockey on ESPN, people that wouldn't care to watch hockey possibly watching hockey, and maybe that translates into more coverage throughout the hockey season.

Having a team like team europe or team north america just puts more "star" players in front of fans, especially casual fans. Alll good things for the sport to grow and become more valuable without doing stupid poop like making the goals bigger or calling more penalties

I still contend that there is no such thing as a "casual" hockey fan. Most people have no interest in watching a bunch of Canadians and Europeans skate around on an ice rink with a lot of random lines on it.

I never mentioned it as being something to make money.

I seriously doubt that anyone other than a fairly hard-core NHL fan will watch this tournament. There's nothing compelling about it to draw someone in. At least the Olympics have the other Olympic sports that folks watch where they may accidentally not change the channel when figure skating ends and end up watching an Olympic hockey game. With this tournament the MLB and NFL, and probably golf and NASCAR, will trounce it in the ratings. I don't see any way it will "grow the game."

Sure, more stars are there, but so what? It's eight all-star teams. Big woop. Two of the teams are unaffiliated with a nation. Manufactured national pride. snore

NHL hockey is the best hockey in the world. Anything else is simply watered down.

Well, I will add these thoughts. The previous version of this tournament, the Canada Cup was immensely popular in Canada. The 1987 victory over the Russians on home soil is the stuff of legends up here. I remember watching every period of every game. Maybe the NHL is looking to capitalize on the fact that it was kind of ingrained in Canadians. I mean, all games are in Toronto aren't they? Could just be hoping it's popular enough in Canada that they still make a decent profit?
