Nucks fans have no idear what they're in fer. Leafs circa lockout until two years ago.

It really has a multiplier effect down the lineup, taking heat off a Marner, off everybody really. There's no one guy who's supposed to be the 'saviour', there's a bunch of talented guys now. It's a huge change.

Stating the obvious but the Leafs have drafted in the 1-4-5-8-21st hole in the past five drafts, they should have some good prospects. They've also recently done well with asset management acquiring more picks to increase their odds of finding a good player.

Hey I'm the first one to call Benning a knothead, but historically he's been a good draftist. With a few more poor finishes he may just draft his way outta future trouble.

I often wonder (I'm retired) why teams with excellent young prospects like Colorado (MacKinnon 1st, Johnson 1st, Landeskog 2nd, Duchene 3rd, O'Reilly, Barrie, Stastny etc.) can't turn the corner.

I think much of it comes down to coaching, depth and development, where the Leafs are in a good position, in my opinion anyways.
