Just emailed my parents who moved from NJ to St. Augustine last year to see if they lost power, and they said their house is gone and they are living in a FEMA tent on their foundation!

And I was concerned with covering my woodpile. How's that for a smack of reality?

My parents just called me back, and for the first time ever pulled one over on me. Got some wind and rain but that was it.
They did a really good job for not having much of a sense of humor. They are coming up in a few weeks, so I have to think of payback.

Funny you say that.
I am usually barefoot, but promised my wife I would wear boots while splitting wood.
Since it is going to rain, I figured now would be a good time to cover up the pile, so I threw on my Five Fingers since there might be some poison ivy and proceeded to stack some wood I had previously split. Didn't have enough for the row, so I grabbed the axe, maul and wedge. While splitting an uneven piece, the back of the maul slipped off of the wedge and caught me on the top of my foot. Wouldn't have been a problem had I been wearing my Red Wings. Bruised it pretty good, but not broken. A little haste and common sense goes out the window.
