I think you're right...it grows on you. Overall, I think we need to bring back the Black sweaters. Black is one of our "colors" and not just a fad, or for alternate sweaters, which seem to be en vogue around the league.
- SticksDowney

Was never a fan of the black jersey's. I like their current home and away a ton. If there were going to bring back an older jersey as their 3rd, I'd like the orange one from the 90's.

I don't think that's it, Bill.

I, and many others understand why they are using gold.

It just doesn't look good.

Also not helpful: It is a primary color of one of their biggest rivals.

Well, then I guess the gold just makes us that much closer, no?

My 2nd thought was: At least it is only for twelve games.

What happens to their current 3rd jersey? I would make that one their standard home jersey. I am not a fan of the light orange they have been using.

I would also bring back the 80's wide stripe white Jersey for the road. I don't really like the black nameplate with white letters on the current or the 50th anniversary jerseys.

The black jerseys never appealed to me. Way too bland.

While I'm at it, the league should go back to light at home and dark on the road.

Not surprised that most people don't understand the significance of the gold; that said for me it is good to know but in the end doesn't change the fact that the jerseys just don't look good.

The gold numbers are a little over the top for me. But I'm not too against the overall design.

I changed my mind overnight and won't get Provorov on it. It's going to be my Giroux shirt. I'll get Provorov in a normal jersey.

I think that change was made for the 03-04 season. And I'm still not used to it!

Some of the reactions have been comical. You would think they closed up shop and merged with the Penguins.

Fair enough, I'm not surprised the design is pretty similar to the current jerseys. Overall that part is fine, although it would have been nice to see something a little different. I just don't think any of the gold elements look good.

Oops, I meant to say: This is an outrage and shame on you for supporting this atrocity of a jersey. I will be boycotting the season over this. I'll MAYBE consider watching again if they scrap this abomination of a jersey and I receive a personal letter of apology over the matter from Ed Snider.

Nice, subtle Holy Hand Grenade reference. Though I'm fairly certain counting all the way to 50, will render you naughty in the eyes of god, and likely get you smote.

Just make it permanent. With a permanent broad street bullies patch. That way we'll never ever forget the golden era of flyers hockey even if you never intended to

Guy: ...You'd do that for me? Really!
Wife: Who is that?
Guy: Ed Snider from the Flyers.
Guy: *Sounds like a really good deal*.
Wife: Ed Snider from the Flyers in 3 in the morning, WHO IS THIS?
Guy: It's Ed Snider from the Flyers.
Wife: What are you wearing "Ed Snider from the Flyers"?
Ed: Ugh... a new jersey
Wife: She sounds hideous
Guy: Well she's a 50th anniversary jersey so...

I'll see myself out...
