The reason why is ad revenue. I stream games online and watch all kinds of local market commercials. American commercials are often more entertaining. But I've seen commercials for the likes of Dave's Roofing in Edmonton during oilers broadcasts and Speedy automotive commercials during canucks games. They don't have a lot of companies like Subway who operate in every market so that's why they regionalize the distribution.

If you have the internet, cut the damn cable company off already!

That makes sense I guess ...I don't like it but it makes sense ...thank god for Internet

So I just did a bunch of number crunching on the schedules for all 30 teams based off a google spreadsheet from here: http://www.ontheforecheck...7-super-schedule-released

I decided to break it down further and added columns for miles traveled vs. league average as a ratio, # of B2B games vs. league avg as a ratio and miles traveled for B2B games vs. league average as a ratio. (I need to get a frickin' job soon).

I then took those ratios and summed them to see who has the worst schedule for 2016-2017. Drum roll please. Note: I did not weight anything so some may consider this useless as they may feel B2B's are tougher than overall travel or that travel between B2B's should be weighted higher (e.g. B2B between LA and ANA is 16 miles, lol)

BTW, 1 would represent average.

1. SJS - 1.0924
2. DAL - 1.0878
3. MTL - 1.0830
4. BOS - 1.0794
5. COL - 10732
6. EDM - 1.0643
7. ARI - 1.0561
8. VAN - 1.0549

Easiest went to Nashville with a 0.8232

Thanks for this. Confirms what I was thinking regarding the schedule. Bad but not the worst for Nux...

She spent her childhood on the lakes, and sailed in the Canada summer games and the national junior team.... the boat is non-negotiable

Now this is entering my realm of expertise. First thing the Mrs. needs to understand is this isn't the lakes, and you will need an appropriate vessel for the sea conditions on the west coast...if you get my meaning.

Well a lot of fans always seem to complain about the travel and back to backs so I thought I'd take a look and compare. I did a similar thing a few years back to see what the penalties for and against pre and post Burrows incident for the Canucks top players. Just to see if the bias I was seeing actually existed.

That being said I did it partly because travel alone doesn't tell the whole story. I think the travel BETWEEN a back to back can have a significant impact.

Nashville has a pretty significant advantage in all categories. They should have a good year.

Dicey proposition, my buddy did that...Had a couple of kids with a lovely Filipina girl, helped support her family only to have her decide she was a lesbian and wanted to move with her lover to Australia.

Back in high school, I started hanging out with a new group of friends that were all hockey fans. I had no real knowledge of hockey outside of John Leclair (his father was a family friend). The new group of friends would throw down on NHL 94 and do big tournaments. All the other common teams in this area were taken. Boston, Montreal, Pittsburg, Rangers, etc. So, I needed to find a team to use... I saw some Bure highlights and was instantly sold. I started using Vancouver and have been a fan since.

I was thinking before that Nashville is my favorite for the cup. Not for the schedule but it definitely helps.

That sucks Scoob. Don't believe Lums, it's not the jersey.

Lums is living the dream I guess? The question is who's dream?

Makita took his sweet time didn't he?

You keep being you ASL.

(frank) the Leafs and that (frank)ing Steve Dangle fellow.

What was for dinner? Sometimes a little burnt just adds flavor.
