I think its bogus that our regulars are being banned in our own thread for defending themselves...by outside mods....

Makita, you are a good dude, and just want us all to play nice......do yourself a favor look at some other blogs.....You are being laughed at in other blogs for non banning people who are admitting (in other threads) that their intention is to troll and highjack.

I have a lot of respect for you and the job you do, and this is not meant in disrespect, but just saying "cut it out" or "go away" isn't doing it.

Thanks for the kind words, but that's not my style, I have thick skin and if posters in other threads want to malign me for being who I am, let them. It's not a popularity contest for me.

I will give long leashes on what I consider soft trolling, but obviously I need to take a harder stance.

Edit: and this all started by banning a leafs poster for a month and a half, what are you expecting every non-aggressive leaf post be deleted and the poster banned, that should make for a nice safe vanilla place to be.

oh I dont think they were "guests"....when someone intrudes into somewhere they dont belong, cause all kind of havoc and refuses to leave "guest" doesnt fit very well.

personally Id prefer a new "trespassers will be shot" policy

I'm ok with regulation.....debate is good, and can be fun. I wasn't mad about the "guests" that wanted to talk hockey, just the hijackers and poop disturbers and even then its not the big deal. Its our posters getting banned for sticking up for themselves, or getting insta banned by other forum mods for saying almost anything, no matter how innocuous. the ratio of four of ours to 1 of our "guests" (in the canucks forum) seems pretty one sided (opinion) And by the sounds of it, you had no part in said bans....so time outs were done by another forums mods, it promotes a walking on eggshells feeling in my own house (forum).

But if you are gonna be our Regulator.....I'm cool with that.

He went and called out Lou (politely) for patrolling our thread and handing out bans. I think Dozzer nailed him for it.

How can someone trespass when it's not your property? This is Ek's site, divided into blogs that focus on different teams. A Canuck's focussed thread does not belong to Canuck fans. It is a thread that raises Canuck issues that anyone on the site might want to discuss. As long as people abide by the rules it doesn't matter who is where.

Unless there were a lot of posts that were deleted before I saw them, I actually don't think things were that over the top. I also think your mod did a good job and showed appropriate restraint. All the flagging every time a Leafs fan posted was kind of embarrassing.
