This is his 3rd time trying to come back to the NHL. He's been a giant ass his entire career. He could change it all around..unlikely he will but who knows.but at this point my opinion on him is not good.
- Santo_44

Totally agree. If he didn't change at all, and acts the same way, he will blow his last chance at any sort of career in the NHL. Nothing shows that he will be different, except what he says. He could very well be BSing, but we will have to wait and see.

He will be as good as their last Russian they picked up for 1 yr.
- bixll

Not too bad of a chance, only 1 yr contract...and for free.

Leafs should have grabbed him. Polish up the turd and trade it at the deadline.

do guys like greening really need to play?
I mean, we gotta make room for more youth rather than having that plug filling up a roster space.

Greening is probably a better player than Laich, and is certainly a better player than an injured Michalek.

I agree...punt those 2 plugs and keep Greening and bring in 2 yutes.

I look forward to the day Greenlaichalek is off the roster, but we need a little patience. There would be too many rookies at once otherwise. Plus you might be able to get something for at least one of them before the season's over.

I think if they don't play well enough they won't make the team. I think that should be obvious to them.

laich is useless too....but at least he is a savvy veteran type with a lot of respect from his peers.
greening is just nonsense.

im patient enough to have a few old bodies filling holes...but greening is neither a seasoned vet or a useful player.

Greening had 0.5 ppg after joining the Leafs last year.

That's one more point than Laich had in 81 games.

He might still be salvageable. As much as I like Laich and the idea of having a vet in the room and all that jazz, having someone who can potentially put up 30+ points on the 3rd or 4th line is more appealing to me.

its not like hyman is a kid, he's 24, and soshnikov is 22....they should be plenty mature enough that we don't need the greenings and laichs of the world filling in for the time being.

For sure, but there's only so much we can do with them.

We can waive them, or trade them, or play them.

I guess what I am hoping is that the younger guys kick the piss out of the old plugs at camp and force their way onto the team.

At which point did I say you couldn't post your views on opposing teams players? You can do that in any blog, having nothing to do with the home team.

They are not expecting the same outcome. They are expecting a better one.

Ability to do it over an 82 game stretch might also factor in.

There's bound to be ups and downs for the young guys in their first season.

Doesn't mean it shouldn't still happen. Otherwise these ups and downs will probably just happen next year.

greening and laich, not to mention several other ham'n'eggers have proven they can't do it over 82 games....so im all for seeing if hyman, soshnikov and others are capable.
