I'm actually really curious to see how Kassian does this year. Dud looks like he has his poop in order and appears to be in much better shape than last year. I'm hoping for 15 goals. - Wildschwein
15 goals coming from a 3rd liner would be phenominal. He has decent hands, can skate, hits hard, seems to have turned his life around. I'm happy for the guy. Hopefully he can put it all together on the ice. |

Precisely my concern, but I don't think we need to full on cater Leon the absolute best linemates. I maintain that everyone of the Cs should get one of our vet producers and one of our question marks.
Pouliot- McDavid- Yak
Maroon- RNH- Eberle
Lucic- Draisaitl- Kassian
Lander- Letestu- Pakarinen
*Note: All the top three lines get equal ice time in this scenario - MaximumBone
Man you hate Hendricks.
Everything else looks real good though. |

Slappy can and has played both wings. Seems more comfortable at LW, but playing your offside in the NHL is a different animal than any other league. Particularly on international ice surfaces, playing your off-wing is more manageable due to having extra space to work with. In NA, he might be better off sticking to RW.
Also, I've heard that Caggiula has experience at C in college and that they might start him there. - MaximumBone
Good to know. How does one go about finding whether he played RW in the AHL? Google gave me nothing. |

I route through Lowetide's blog to multiple sources of information. He regularly links off to a guy that watches the Condors religiously so that's where I find my info. He only really links off during the year or in his year in review type posts. |

I really don't hate Hendricks; I just recognized a drop-off in effectiveness last year and the fact that he's going on 35 now. Realistically, he's better utilized as a 13th man, which is still fine. I'm also not gonna drop Lander. |

Lowetide is one of the best Oiler bloggers around. Reasonable, intelligent, thoughtful, and has content daily. If there was an Oiler blogger Hall of Fame, they would name it after him. |

He's a bit of a homer. Entertaining and pumps out the blogs though. |

He's solid though he's a bit of a homer. My only problem with his blogs is how often he repeats the same information (byproduct of posting twice a day) and how a lot of his community are unabashed homers with their trade proposals. |

Nevermind the attack and defense, what about goaltending?
Is everyone comfortable at this point with Talbot fully in charge?
As for the backup, I'm really pulling for Brossoit to pull through.
Depth wise/prospect wise, we have Eetu and Ellis now (Brossoit too if you don't consider him a backup), so that is pretty solid.
Would anyone jump on board with trying to upgrade the goaltending situation if it cost 3-4 mill more than Talbot's contract? I'm talking about trying to acquire Bishop (including his new extension). |

Lowetide is an idiot, same as Staples. They have a cult following and spew homer nonsense that get the sheep fans all riled up.
They seem to be as connected or informed as any one of us in these blogs. Fans not connected hockey writers |

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Talbot at all, but if Bishop is available, acquiring him would be quite enticing.
Even if he wants an extension at the 7-8 mill range, I think it's a solid deal. Now, if one of our top defenders go down, we have an elite goalie in net that is accustomed to such a situation. |

after his second half last year, I can't imagine why not.
Having the pedigree and name power is great and all, but I'd imagine many name goalies wouldn't do any better than talbot did behind our defence.
he gave us a chance every night at worst. Flat out kept us in it many nights at best
Until he shows that he's not, he's a quality starting goalie[url] |
