The scouting agencies didn't rank the players of who they thought was best? Wait what?

Man, you're reading comprehension is absolutely abysmal.
Chychrun not getting picked ahead (well behind) and not in the top ten would suggest that he want consensus top dman, no?

It
arguably shows that it was a consensus of about 3 people, that's all. Those being those GMs that chose a dman prior to Chycrun. I also say arguably because you're assuming that the two that took a dman prior to him were picking what they thought was the best player, and not something like the safest. Or the one they thought fit their team better. Or whatever. (admittedly though, they probably did that.)
Put it this way - if Puljujarvi goes third like expected, and Edmonton goes D instead, like expected, if that single team thinks Serg or Chycrun or better, this entire conversation gets turned around. That's all it would have taken, one GM. Would you now say PL Dubois was consensus better than Puljujarvi?
And I never said Chycrun was consensus TOP dman (again, check your reading comprehension). I said the scouting agencies had him ahead.
Yes, I think it's pretty telling that the way it played out indicates that the scouting agencies were wrong.

Because a select few GMs said so. Therefore the scouting agencies were wrong. What a crappy line of thinking.
This has happened before. Cam Fowler is a good example of a kid who was ranked very high, but dropped in the draft. He was originally ahead of Gudbranson in the draft rankings if I recall.
But to say he was consensus is clearly not true as I've pointed out multiple places that had chychrun way down, and that is exactly how it played out. So the consensus among nhl teams was that chychrun wasn't that high, which is what tsn and sportsnet said.

You are so frustrating. Have you shown me a single scouting agency that said otherwise yet?
