Virtanen says he's matured and ready to make an impact.

Is it just me, or does someone who says they've matured not yet matured?
I hope he gets his poop together, and sounds like he's on the right path (other than his boozing and hanging with Bieber), but let's let his teammates decide wether or not he's matured.

So what is the official magic number that a prospect is no longer considered a prospect? I have never seen that number have you?
- VANTEL

No more than 50 (over multiple seasons). Or 40 in one season

Some on here aren't that high on Princess Willie and Michele Marner. Nothing personal. Matthews is still number two
- CanuckDon

Ohh trust me I am not that high on Marner

He takes 15 minute shifts and turns the puck over at the drop of hat

But Nylander is solid

So basically you are giving me a made up number. And surprisingly is let's Willie fall into your description. What a surprise.

You know there are no true guidelines to what defines a prospect. You just throwing out poop

If you can get him to do stuff while he has the puck you'll be into a winner.

That's already a given talent, score and run over people

Prospects are prospects. I think 22 games should still qualify. Would Virtanen be a prospect?

I'm half joking when I trash him but he has some flaws. I understand why he is highly touted but I'm not convinced he will be better than a player like Boeser who I imagine is ranked much lower. And yes, some of that has to do w him being a West Coast pick.

That's exactly it. If Nylander is a prospect than Virtanen should be a prospect. Perhaps age is a simpler method. I mean for (frank)sakes, Canucks Army has Rodin as our 5th ranked prospect. The kid is turning 26 soon

I would 100% count Virtanen as a prospect. I'd imagine 99% of people do.

26 for a prospect may be pushing it though.

Pronman considers someone who didn't play 25 games in a season or like 40 over more then one season combined still a prospect.

Well because of games played he isn't by most publications. A (frank)ing joke...but I guess who the (frank) cares at the end of the day

Boeser has no where near the ceiling Marner does. Everyone and their dog would take the high ceilings over a maybe 2nd line guy. Marner could bust, sure but he could also be a huge player in the league and what he's done at the junior level has been pretty ridiculous. Boeser was ranked like 40th or something by the way. Joulevi 13th around there and demko the 6th goalie prospect. Feel free to be upset

What I don't get, if Pronman is so biased towards the leafs. Why didn't he just name Mathews number 1? unless he didn't so he wouldn't look biased? Now the conspiracy is really going.

WRONG

gillies won a WjC Medal as a backup meaning he didn't play any games. And when he was the starter they came in 5th

demko on the other hand had better numbers at the WJC which were light years better then Gillies

And I love how you use the old "his team was stacked" excuse like Gillies single handedly won an NCAA championship. did he also score the goals

At every level Demko > Gillies

- classic321

You have a Thatcher Demko inferiority complex.

I look forward to reading your posts in the coming years.

Would I consider Jake a prospect ? Not really , he has played a year, but at some point I may call him one seeing there is no real definition of what makes a player a prospect.

It's all subjective . Same as you saying Willie is a top 7 prospect.

Here is a list of players that haven't played in the NHL that I would prefer on my team over Nylander or Marmer. Not in any particular order.

Michael Dal Colle
Hayden Fluery
Travis Sanheim
Logan Brown
Pierre Luc Dubois
Laine Puljujarvi
Josh Ho Sang
Dylan Strome
Ivan Provorov
Brock Boeser
Mikhail Sergachev
Mathew Tkachuk
Ollie Juolevi
Nikita Tryamkin
Jakob Chychryn
Austen Mathews

Then I would start looking at Marmer or Willie.

So that list is just opinion.
If you asked 100 different people you would get 100 different answers
I am sure if you asked 20

Your blindness is mind boggling.

3 of the seven best prospect , the fourth best coach , the eleventh best management , and a thirtieth place finish. Un Phucken believable.

At least this year we didn't have to listen to you yammers tell us how great Phanuef was.
